he's a great player. he's a huge reason indy is leading the series right now. the funny thing is that indy was winning big in game 1 but the refs took hibbert out which completely disrupted their game plan.

He almost single handedly let Heat back in the game tho. Vogel brings in 4 out of the 5 starters and Collison was still the clear weak link so he had to bring Hill back in on the next possesion. We then blew the heat out. He played good in stretches and I was glad for him, but he'll continue to blow leads by himself because he's just not a good NBA player. There was like a 5 possesion period where he did everything you could possibly do wrong and the heat went on a 7-0 run I think. Vogel brought in 4 of the 5 starters and Collison was still scrubbing it up and he was forced to bring in Hill.

For the record I flipped on the game and Collison hit two key shots to kind of cement the Pacers major lead

Were you also one of the people that said Collison was a better player than Hill last game?

posters should know to mostly ignore indy2... Collison has been superb, coming off the bench, but he cares more about hating collison than the Pacers. He's mostly a joke character.

His +/- for the series.

He had a -8 in game 1.

He had a -8 in game 2.

He had -2 in game 3.

We're better when he doesn't play. He's a scrub, the farthest thing from superb. Whatever unlucky team ends up with him next season I feel bad for.

The Rockets will offer anybody taller than Chuck Hayes max this summer, but no I wouldn't give him quite what Marc Gasol got either. Hibbert's good with a high ceiling, but Gasol was already arguably looking like the 3rd best center in the league coming into this past summer.

Hibbert is a solid player but he isnt a star and he cant take over and dominate a game.

Hes good for 15 points and 10+ rebounds a night, but he doesent have the engine that lets him score 30+ and dominate matchups, hell Big Baby davis was owning him in the first round.

Hibberts solid but hes still got a long way to go.

Gasol averages 1.8 more points per game, 0.1 more rebounds per game, and 1.4 more assists per game in 6.7 more minutes per game. If Hibbert played 36.5 minutes per game his numbers would be better than Gasol's.

And the season before Gasol got paid he averaged 11.7pts/7.0rebs. Hibbert averaged 12.8pts/8.8rebs.

Hibbert is younger too. Their is no reason to think Gasol is worth more than Hibbert unless you're a huge Grizzlies homer. Everything points to Hibbert having more value. I would like Hibbert to get less because it would help the Pacers, but he should and will get as much as Gasol.

Big Baby hit some ridiculous shots, but we were leaving him open, because it was the easiest way to beat Orlando. If Glen Davis hit 8 open 15 foot jumpers but you keep them from getting into the lane and hitting open 3's you do it. We could have easliy kept Davis at about 6 points per game, but why do it when you knew that couldn't beat you alone? It's why I don't understand people complaining about Hibbert not coming out on those LeBron floaters. If he gets close to LeBron, he'll just drive to the basket and get to the line. We can't have Hibbert in foul trouble.

No way.

He's just a fantastic impact player,

but no way is he a max player or player who can carry a team. AKA superstar.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

For a guy 7'2, sporting a career-high TS% of just .539 is frankly disappointing. His 10.6 rebounds per 36 minutes are also a career-high but a little on the low side for someone his size and agility. Not to mention his scoring rate that is as average as they come.

He's worth around $11 million, but will get the max because of the defensive dimension he brings to the table though his size. But it's a shame it needs to be like this. The days of the true deserving maximum salaries centers such as Olajuwon, O'Neal, Robinson and Ewing are definitely long gone.

Roy was always getting a max or near max offer. Haven't you guys been paying attention? Big men get paid.

Marc Gasol is a good comparison. Gasol I think is still the better player, but the gap isn't huge and Hibbert is younger anyway. If Marc Gasol deserves his contract then so will Hibbert.
