The worst offensive sets in basketball?

Post#1 » by HateMyThreads » Fri May 18, 2012 2:00 am

All I see is LBJ up top running a pick and roll, LBJ on the wing isolation, the same 2 off the ball plays for Wade or just giving him the ball up top, or having them on 2 difference sides of the court for no reason since the Pacers aren't even worried about their perimeter game. If the Pacers don't turn the ball over there zero offense for the Heat. Miami won't make it past Game 6 playing like this. Now THIS doesn't bail out the players. At the end of the day LeBron and Wade are playing soft, terrible, and the supporting cast is so bad. Missing WIDE open shots. So at the end of the day ... this is more than a coaching thing but the entire Heat organization should be embarrassed right now. Even without Bosh ... this is embarrassing that your 2 best players can't close the show in Game 2 and in Game 3 basically get shut down in the 2nd half.

look at this team pre-AS break. It's totally different and they did run sets and plays. I don't know why they went away from things.

People thought they would be saving it for the playoffs LMAO not even close.

Our offense is too much iso's man.

our 3 point shooters though don't get a lot of room and when they do, they still miss it.

if we don't win game 4, it's over.

I think Spo needs to take another look at the Oregon Ducks offense, because we have too much talent to have this much trouble scoring.

Break up Big 3? Because Miller and Battier lost their shots, Haslem lost his game, Riley never found a C or PG, and they trail 2-1? #panic

Dude, focus! Lebron + Wade ... and we're scoring 75 pts! If Miller, Battier & Haslem all pulled up lame on the court during the same offensive possession, we should still have a solid chance to score. There is no excuse for a team featuring 2 of the top offensive talents in the NBA to have trouble scoring even if the other 3 guys can't do a damn thing other than passing the ball back to the big 2.

If Wade was still playing with the pre-Lebron crew, you'd expect that Heat team to score 80+ pts.

If Bosh was still back with his old Raptor teams, you'd expect them to score 80+ pts.

If Lebron was back with his old Cavs teams, you'd expect them to score 80+ pts.

There is NO EXCUSE for the lack of scoring on a team featuring both Lebron and Wade. This Heat team is < the sum of its parts.

This Heat team has a terrible offense. They can't beat the Spurs. The Spurs play consistent team ball. Everybody touches the ball. The Heat majors on one on one isolation for Lebron and DWade. If it wasn't for Lebron's willingness to pass the ball, based on their offense, no one would get to touch it. The Heat do little passing and have no low post game to open up the passing lanes for open shots. Their offense is terrible which is why the Pacers are having success against them. One thing for sure, they don't have a chance to beat the Spurs playing DWade/Lebron iso's. That weak offensive scheme will not work.

It's hard to run beautiful half court basketball when you only have two good players and they're both slashing wings.

It's a trap. We don't play team basketball before the Finals.
