Yes you can. I'll be making his pick for him. I'm just waiting for him to accept on here so I can do so (figured that was protocol).

You should have just made the pick and officially consummated the trade later.

If you are going to work on a trade for a pick while you're on the clock (by using the loophole) just do it. Don't admit it.
The point about what we did isn't so much to not allow people to do this (obviously there's loophole) it's to speed things up.
So the proper way would have been to start talking to whomever it is BEFORE you find out who got picked right before you and then just agree that IF player x is there when my pick is up then this is the trade we are going to make. That way AS SOON AS the pick before you is made you can go ahead an quickly take the player the other guy wants and then announce the trade (via the traded player x plus picks to the other team for picks approach).

^Moo, I was working on the deal but CoolKids made his pick before I anticipated he would. Not to mention that this is not really a loophole at all; it is, in fact, how most deals are done on actual draft day. There is a reason we have the 6-hour time allotment. No reason to push someone purely to "speed things up" when they will still make their decision in a timely manner and completely within the rules.

I figured Klay would last longer. Great shooter, who is young and on a rookie deal. I just thought most GM's would sleep on him. Nevertheless, good pick!

Weren't you the main one complaining about people making their picks late? This post reeks of hypocricy bro.

I understand but not all rules are rules that we agree with (heck I don't necessarily even agree with it but hey), doesn't mean they aren't there. Next BAT we can think about taking it out but it is what it is here is all I'm saying. In fact we probably should.

Yeah, "Shaking My Head" coined the phras "Make your pick son!"

Yeah I felt he would have been around for a bit longer (a 4th rounder). But if you want someone you can't take that risk that someone else will nab him. And it may be a good thing cause it looks like we are moving into a run of shooting SG's.

He's an underrated passer. Good pick. I like the swingman element you have going on there with Thompson/Batum. I was secretly kinda hoping Klay fell to me in the 4th round (wishful thinking, I know).
