Actually, that was logical. Bayern only has 1.5 guys who win defensive headers (Boateng, Gomez) so bringing in van Buyten for some aerial support was ok. They just choked - not unusual for this year. Now Bayern has the Treble of Horror:

2nd in the Bundesliga ---- 8 points behind Dortmund
DFB Pokal Finalist ---- CRUSHED by Dortmund
CL Finalist ----- lost the game of games at home (!!)

I would've taken Gomez off and pushed Mueller, Kroos and Tymo forward a spot to make room for van Buyten. Then I again I think very little of Mario Gomez and think that Olic would've done much better in his place.

Even as a German, I agree. You play soccer to score goals, not to create chances. Bayern's finishing was comically bad today, and if you are honest, it mirrors their season.

Remember the many unnecessary BL losses during the season?
Remember how they missed the 90th minute PK vs Dortmund?
Remember how they were blasted apart in the Pokal finals?

I don't even know what to do, I have never felt this numb. I can't believe we choked that away and Robben will never be forgiven for missing that penalty. great team. but when it's on they can't handle the pressure.
