Howard Mass wrote:I think Brian Shaw and Mike Malone are the top candidates to be head coach.

Donnie Walsh, Kevin Pritchard and Jeff Bower are some names they would like to bring into the personal department. Adonal Foyle could see a promotion too.

It will be interesting and we will see what happens.

Will these moves be enough to keep Dwight Howard around or will he leave and give this franchise egg on their face?

i'd still rather keep Dwight Howard and I would have fired Stan just to keep him or have a shot to do so.

If Dwight goes, it could be a long way back and it is a hard pill to swallow.

No question.

Everyone saying "You shouldn't fire the coach to keep the star happy" is wrong unless you have a truly superior coach.

Coaches are replacable, even Stan. Players like Dwight aren't, therefore, he takes precedence. Is it f***** up? Yeah, usually (though not in this case, imo, considering SVG publicly threw him under the bus). But hey, that's life, and that's reality.

And the reality is, this team would miss Dwight much more than Stan.

Very sad to see Stan go, but I think we can all agree the change was necessary, or a necessary evil depending on what side of things you sit.

Hopefully our guys will buy in to the new direction and play with some life.

Lets start this new era off right -- someone start a chris paul to orlando rumor!

Did Mike Bianchi just burn Dwight Howard on ESPN? lol wtf... why is this idiot talking on Sportscenter/National TV?

ESPN Anchor: "What's next for the Orlando Magic? Who are they thinking of bringing in?

Bianchi: "Well since Dwight is in control of the franchise, then I guess Dwight Howard will be the player-coach and player-GM..."

:face palm:

STFU MIKE!

What an idiot. The guys he requested are all doing well anyway. . . So if he were our GM he'd do a better job than Otis (I know, it's not hard to do better than him) anyway.

It took 90 pages. You think we'll have a new coach and gm by the end of part 24?

I'm going to say somewhere in part 25

Btw who's making part 24 when this one reaches 100 pages? Like I stated in the OP...
*Okay this time when a speculation thread reaches 100 pages, someone else (users/mods) besides me will make the next thread parts. :D Sound good?*

EDIT: DON'T worry about keeping track of the total posts/pages when you're making these threads. It's not a big deal, so no worries. :) ...

Might as well ask it now add get it over with. I'm done making these for awhile. Plus I have to head out in 10min. I won't be back until later tonight.

Go Magic! Changes are arriving!

Alex Martins just said in press conference that we will hire a GM before we hire a new coach.

We'll have a GM by the draft

Both Stan and Otis were integral parts of what has been, so far, the best Magic team ever; they came short of a championship, but I'm grateful for what they did accomplish.

That said, change was needed, and I welcome the decision to part ways. I hope the front office hires capable people, particularly at GM, because we need someone who wants to--and will--clear cap.

Things will be interesting, at least. Looking forward to it.
