RA does not have a magical wand ... this next phase will take 2-3 years minimum, because for the most part, we are now going to "start building" around Love and Rubio. We have to stay away from the chumps.
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

We should trade Ridnour now while his value is somewhat high (numbers inflated from Rubio going down).
Is a detriment to winning basketball.

"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Wolves IN: Batum, Turner, Portland 1st Rd pick (#11ish)
Wolves OUT: Pek, DWill, Rid, #18
Wolves cash in on very high Pek trade value...and I am from the camp Pek/Love combo is not ideal fit talent wise and for long term financial commitment. Turner gets new environment to prove himself and improve his outside shooting...Batum's shooting helps offset SG who needs shooting improvement. Wolves need to find upgrade at center and part with Darko, maybe Lopez or Hawes or lower tier choice.
C-FA/Love/#11? or keep Darko if no other option
PF-Love/resign AR/#11?
SF-Batum/Wes...Wes gets one more year coming off bench at natural SF
SG-Turner/Elington/Lee
PG-RR/JJ/Turner
Blaz IN: Pek, Lou Williams (S&T), Rid, #18 via Wolves
Blaz OUT: Batum, N Smith, NJ 1st Rd pick, Their own pick #11ish
C-Pek/Thomas...Pek gives them legit C next to athletic LA
PF-LA/Hickson
SF-Luke/FA...could use remaining cap space to sign better starter then Luke
SG-Matthews/Williams
PG-Lou/Rid...Lou give them scoring, athletic PG needed
76ers IN: DWill, N Smith, NJ 1st Rd pick via Portland
76ers OUT: Lou Williams, Turner
C-Vucevic/FA/Brand
PF-Brand/Dwill...Dwill part of youth movement core with Jrue, Vucevic, '12 Pick
SF-Young
SG-Iggy
PG-Jrue/N Smith
Wolves OUT: Pek, DWill, Rid, #18

This is pretty terrible. I would rather just try to sign Batum in the off-season, not give up probably our 4 biggest assets(assuming Rubio/Love are never going to be traded) this season.
The only way I'm trading Pek is if it is with another piece to upgrade the center spot, not just trading a center to fix other holes...and thus leaving a bigger hole at center.

Guys like Randolph, Darko, and Beasley were risks. Obviously they didn't pan out, but they were still risks.
They weren't good players.
You misused a couple of them.

All three of them are mentally weak. They were poor risks from the beginning.

You know, you're right. It is definitely misusing Darko when you ask him to play pro basketball.

You can't take the scraps from other teams and expect them to become stars in your team. That is the real problem with Kahn, he thinks he's smarter than everyone else, but in the end Darko, Beasley, Randolph... all of them were kicked out of their teams for a reason.
They simply can't play.
^^BTW horrible trade up there, I don't like it for any of the three teams involved , sorry

Ridnour was another team's scraps. Can he play?

Indiana did it with Jermaine O'neal, and Kahn was part of that organization when they did it, which is why he's been trying to do the same thing since he got here.

Re: Adelman wants a "very aggressive" off season
I know that big trades looks not realistic, but what do you think about this variant of aggressive summer.
Phi.
Turner, Brand.
Min.
D. Williams, Jonson, Webster, Ridnour, Milicic.
PG. Rubio, Barea, Lee
SG - SF. Turner, Ellington, # 18 (Ross), FA (Shved)
PF Love, Brand
C Pekovic, FA (Stiemsma, Gray, Thabeet )
Turner is one of the best young Adelman type player guys, he has a good ball handing, rather good defense, can create short by himself and by his partners.
Brand is a veteran with a huge expiring contract, on this season he didn’t have enough freshness, but as a back up he’ll be good/ Many fellows spoke about Pau, Brand is another variant, but in his case we can catch a sg/sf with a good potential.
If Khan signs Shved and on # 18 Minni select Terence Ross, Timberwolves will have a good 2-3 rotation.
For back up cheap veteran , or big body (Gray, Thabeet) player will be ok.
Stiemsma will be the best variant.
But Phili reasons more difficult to explain or invent, because now their 1-st player in trading block is Iggy and Brand will be in TB too with his sweet expiring contract.
After the trade they still be young, but more deep Ridnour cheaper then Lou Will, and has a veteran experience, Jonson may be, I really hope, can realize his potential, Martel good shooter from the bench, if they not waved him. Darko gives some upgrade on C, but not so good upgrade as Philadelphia want it’s the main problem of this trade.

Oh how short sided can ones thinking be. Of course any Wolves fan would "rather just try and sign Batum in the off-season" but what team wouldn't, including Portland. If he can be had, even at max, Wolves should do it...but he can't. Blaz will match any offer...the new CBA makes max for a player like Batum not a potential cap debilitating overspend for 4 short contractual years.
And it can't be argued Pek is expendable...this is Love's and RR team to build around. Even more so cause a true plotting, under athletic center is highly overrated in today's NBA...combined with the very important fact Love can play the 5 very well.

Personally, I like Pek's plotting. A sneaky player is an entertaining player. He might even carry out a plot to make you eat your parents.
Oh, and the trade was a poor use of resources.

There's nothing wrong with perusing the bargain bin for young guys who haven't really proven anything one way or the other (applies more to Beasley and Randolph than Darko), it just can't be the only strategy a GM employs.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Quick question on D. Williams guys. How was he at SF this past season? His stats look very solid. Perhaps he was in fact a SF as he said.

Offensively he was solid, I think. He could handle both positions offensively. He looked really lost in a few games, though. Committed too many offensive fouls by putting his head down and forcing a shot in the lane.
We'd rather not talk about his defense at all. Regardless of position.

He wasn't. I mean you could play him there on offense since he likes long jump shots and trying to drive, but position is determined more by what you can defend, not how you play offense.
