Jerry Sloan Interested In Magic and Bobcats

Post#1 » by monsterblock » Wed May 23, 2012 1:24 pm

So i guess that answers the question, "would Jerry Sloan coach again".

If Drew really wants to move to the west coast to help out his son, then the players such as Joe, Josh, and Al along with the owner need to contact Sloan and persuade him to coach the team.

Their is also a small chance that Sloan didn't mention the Hawks, is because Drew hasn't officially parted with the Hawks, and Sloan is too classy to make such a statement while another coach still has the position.

He's looking to make his own team with an owner willing to spend if need be. The Hawks don't seem to be offering neither.

By the time this offseason's over we'll have refused to consider Sloan, sold our 1st for cash and traded for nobody.

How many times will our management feel the need to prove they're not in the basketball business but ... entertainment?

This. Sloan wants no part of a vet team of guys stuck in their ways, he wants young guys that he can actually reach.

this couldn't be more wrong. after all the stuff i have been read on Sloan the last day or so, it looks like he is desperate to coach again and only mention the Bobcats and Magic, because those are the only two current open positions.

everything that i have read on Sloan makes it seem like he will coach any were except for Utah or where ever Deron lands. Sloan in alot of articles has been portrayed as desperate.

Sloan's comments about the Magic and Bobcats shows that his mind is all over the place, Orlando is a vet team and Bobcats are a rebuilding team that doesn't like to spend money.

Yeah, like Orlando.

(Wait a minute....)

Yeah, like Orlando.

(Wait a minute....)

Dwight is the only diva in Orlando and he has one foot out the door already so try again. They obviously are heading in a rebuild direction because of that but meh.

So Orlando heading for a rebuild without Dwight.....means they are holding onto all of their other vets.....because that makes sense to you? Only Glen Davis and Jason Richardson is guaranteed past 2013 and they are bit players but alright.

As far as Atlanta, yes the 120 million dollar Iso king who complains about getting his touches and about guys knowing their role and is signed on for 4 more seasons is not a diva.

Like masecase stated, Sloan doesn't want a vet core of guys. I'm shocked Portland didn't come up with them having LMA, Batum, and 2 potential lottery picks.

There's a cold war going on between Utah and Portland where they **** around with each others' draft picks and free agents so signing Sloan would be the ultimate F you. Beyond that no one seems to know which direction Portland is going in, yea they have no GM or coach like Orlando but they also have the ability to remake their roster in a thousand different directions in this offseason alone. I'd guess they'd get a clearer picture next week once they find out if they get to keep the Nets pick or not or where their pick falls before they pursue a coach and GM in earnest.

The Bobcats are suppose to be interviewing Sloan today. It would be a fantastic move for MJ if he can come to terms on a contract with Sloan. I'm just concerned that Sloan is still all there in the head and would be returning for the right reasons.

Jerry Sloan has withdrawn his name from consideration for the head coaching position of the Charlotte Bobcats.

It looks like Sloan is desperate to get back into coaching, but it also looks like the reality of going to a non-playoff team has set in. a vet team that is playoff bound like the Hawks, Sixers, or Clippers probably has a better chance in signing Sloan.

Sloan was only interested in charlotte because of Davis. A playoff team is not what Sloan really want. The right situation maybe, but not just anybody..

I personally think Sloan withdrew his name because Charlotte is a clueless organization and failed to show the hall of famer the respect he deserves. If you're Charlotte and Sloan is interested, well, you basically sign him no question to bring some creditability to your organization.

No, I don't have inside sources. Honestly, why would Sloan even have any interest at all in the Cats'. I mean besides having a shot at getting possibly the next superstar player in the draft, what did charlotte legitimately offer?! Hopefully your answer is nothing, because just like HMMFL said, the Cats' are clueless. Hopefully Cho can build the team up.

We think different on some things and the same on some. I am with you on why would he even be interested in a rebuilding project like the Bobcats. On the other hand, he is not a young guy and I never saw him wanting to waste 5 years of the little coaching time he has left just getting a team to the playoffs. I always thought that a playoff caliber team without some crybaby star would be what he was looking for.

Oftentimes, a team allows a candidate to "back out" because they're not going to hire him...
