Game 5 Postgame Suspension Watch
Jackson has three options:
1. He can leave the plays as called (that is what happened after Wade committed a flagrant on Darren Collison in Game 2);
2. He can upgrade any of the calls to a flagrant foul 2, which doesn't have teeth after the fact other than it counts toward "points" that eventually could lead to a suspension if more flagrants are racked up; or
3. He can add a fine and/or a suspension for Game 6 or longer.
WD - I vote for option 1 or 2

does this really warrant a new thread when it's being discussed elsewhere?

assume something will happen with pittman because many of the other teams fanbases right now want blood. Pittman isn't important enough to protect him from it.

Crazy thing from locker rooms last night was how both Indy-MIA didn't really complain about hard fouls. Insist they'll police selves
TrueHoop Henry Abbott
RT @ATolliver44: Dang Larry Bird called his team soft? That's crazy...he must be trying to play mind games with them!
tomhaberstroh Tom Haberstroh
Bird probably wanted to motivate his players to stand up, but I also see it as a way to put pressure on Stu Jackson.

Since there was a Postgame 4 thread, I took the time to create a Postgame 5 thread
mods, do your thing. merge, delete, etc.

Q: Udonis Haslem had no choice but to foul hard Tyler Hansbrough and send a message to the Pacers. A few minutes earlier Tyler Hansbrough smashed Dwyane Wade in the head drawing blood instead of playing the ball. Enough is enough. -- Stuart.
A: Totally disagree, especially a foul that flagrant. With Chris Bosh out, the last thing the Heat can afford is to lose another body at power forward. What if Udonis gets suspended? Then if Shane Battier gets into foul trouble, it is yet another responsibility foisted on LeBron James of having to move to power forward. Sometimes you have to think of the bigger picture.
Q: This Pacers team has played rough and tough and if anybody is to blame it's the officials for not setting the tone. If Haslem goes, Hansbrough goes. It's simple as that. Dexter Pittman's foul was unnecessary, as Haslem had already answered the call and made it plain and clear he had Wade's back. That's how it's played at this level. -- J.R.
A: I agree about the way the referees didn't handle it, and wonder how much more of that trio you'll be seeing the balance of these playoffs. How they could miss the Pittman play and not immediately eject him is hard to fathom. He deserves to sit. What he did was reckless and way over the line. It was a disgraceful act.

Re: Game 5 Postgame Suspension Watch
I think all 3 plays (TH to Wade, UD to TH and Pitt to LS) should be upgraded to Flagrant 2. With that being said, only Pittman should be suspended for at least 2 to 3 games.

Q: How come nobody is showing love to Joel Anthony for improving his game around the basket? -- Ryan.
A: I have. He's played very well of late, especially in measured minutes, which is among the reasons Erik Spoelstra has used Ronny Turiaf as a token starter.

Q: So Eddy Curry finally gets his chance in Game 6? -- Roy, Miramar.
A: Ah, irony. If a player is suspended, his spot cannot be taken on the active roster. So even if Haslem or Pittman is suspended, the Heat still must have two other inactive players, which likely will remain Chris Bosh and Eddy

Re: Game 5 Postgame Suspension Watch
MIAMI -- The questions seemed to smack Paul George with the force of one of the many hard fouls delivered throughout this rugged second-round playoff series between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat.
Just how did the Pacers go from prosperity to panic?
From being in control of this series, ahead 2-1 a few days ago and pounding their collective chests, to retreating to Indiana a battered team facing the brink of playoff elimination?
“We struggled, they jumped on us,” George said after the Heat's 115-83 Game 5 victory gave Miami a 3-2 series lead. “It happens. This is going to be a battle. It's not going to be easy. The same way we won two games and talked about us closing them, they got two wins and now [there's] talk about them closing us.”

There's no way that Haslem deserves a suspension for that foul.

Re: Game 5 Postgame Suspension Watch
From Indiana News
MIAMI -- The Indiana Pacers spent every chance they got this season talking about their depth.
Lose a player, don't panic. Simply plug in another and keep going.
The Pacers lost forward Danny Granger for a short time late in the first half against the Miami Heat.
They started falling apart.
The Pacers lost him for good 3 minutes and 11 seconds into the third quarter.
They crumbled.
What was a close game with Granger on the court turned into a laugher, with LeBron James (30 points) and Dwyane Wade (28) starring in Miami's easy 115-83 victory over the Pacers at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Tuesday.
"We weren't prepared for Danny to go down," Pacers guard Paul George said. "He did and we have to be ready for that. We preach togetherness all year long, and tonight was a perfect way to show togetherness and we didn't do so."

Re: Game 5 Postgame Suspension Watch
Pittman will probably get hit with a suspension and fine. League knows suspending a player who never sees the floor is pointless so they will hurt his pocket instead.

Re: Game 5 Postgame Suspension Watch
My guess is as follows:
Hansborough and Haslem get the same punishment - whatever it might be. I'm guessing upgrade to Flagrant 2 for both and fines.
Pittman will be suspended for 3 games at least - he was clearly looking to deck the guy and the wink afterwards didn't help his cause.

UD did what he needed to do. No **** way he should miss any games.
Dex could use some extra time in the training room instead of on the bench.

Is the Haslem flagrant the worst flagrant1 this postseason? I'm just wondering, because I wasn't of suspensions being handed out for any other flagrant except Artest's. I really blame Steve Kerr for crying like a goddamn bitch over the broadcast. He's done this before with our team. PEACE.

Dude is always saying flagrant or suspension here or there. I wonder if he ever said that when Bowen was playing.

Re: Game 5 Postgame Suspension Watch
Both Hansborough and UD needs to get their checkbooks out.
Pittman, needs to get out his training camp gear for the remainder of this series, watch some film, read some books.....
PERIOD end of story, next game.
