Apparently there is "good" news on the Litsch injury front. I say "good" because he still has no idea what is causing all the pain in his shoulder....
Doctor's give Litsch some good newsJesse Litsch hasn’t had a lot of good news lately but he got some Tuesday. Doctors had ordered a blood test last Friday to make sure the infection in his injured shoulder had been completely healed and he got a clean bill of health on that front.
That still leaves Litsch with a very sore shoulder that he is trying to rehabilitate. His problems began in spring training with some relatively minor inflammation. He underwent a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection that caused an infection in the joint requiring emergency surgery to clean it up.
Because of the immobilization of his shoulder after surgery, he developed a case of what is called “frozen shoulder” and is currently trying to deal with the discomfort of that ailment.
I'm happy that Jessie's health is at least stable. Those infections can be life-threatening, and at that point any thoughts of a career are secondary.
