Larry Bird named Executive of the Year

Post#1 » by Scoot McGroot » Wed May 16, 2012 7:22 pm

Just as it says, Larry Bird walked away with the NBA Executive of the Year award for 2011-12.

His work this year entailed a draft night trade to acquire George Hill, a savvy signing of David West, as well as a swap of Brandon Rush for Lou Amundson, and lastly, acquiring Leandro Barbosa for a 2nd rounder at the trade deadline.

Congrats Larry!

You beat me to it.

But yeah, that's sweet. And very much well-deserved.

Congrats, Larry! More Executive of the Year Awards to come!...?

So what the heck does General Manager David Morway do? Is he the cap guy?

Very well deserved. Besides those excellent moves, the moves he didn't make also standout.
If he stops, he would be leaving the organisation in a very healthy shape.

So, 1st person ever to win an MVP, Coach of the Year, AND Executive of the Year awards for the NBA.

Pretty darned impressive.

I stand corrected. you didn't say we should trade him. you said we should cut him. good thing Larry didn't take your advice.

It's been impressive. Larry had a plan and stuck with it. We're starting to see the results.

Larry Bird interview with John Thompson.

Just thought maybe we should give Larry his due credit of appreciation, but i doubt he cares.
He's actually making all the decisions for four years now, and really, i am very impressed. He sure knows everything about basketball.

Thanks for adding that up. The league too forgot to mention it.
Bird's the man.
