it's good to see him stayin positive and wanting to work harder.

anyone else agree with Zaun's comment about Romero getting the ball out of the glove late, which is resulting in his poor control lately

There is nothing positive about any of these. NOTHING.

Ricky is supposed to be our Ace. He isn't pitching well, that's fine. It happens to everyone, regardless of how much success they've achieved to date. We saw that with Jose Bautista to start the season. Jose was upset, but he wasn't going onto twitter, ripping into the 'keyboard warriors.' Ricky should be focusing on watching tape and improving, not surfing twitter to add flames to the fire.

It sounds to me like he was throwing himself a pity party, and searchinig for guests to invite on twitter. Guess what Ricky, you issued SEVEN walks today!!! Obviously if you go on twitter, some idiots are going to be calling you out, and saying dumb stuff...IT'S TWITTER!

x2.

Going on Twitter and complaining about "haters" is a sign of weakness and that this bad stretch of pitching is effecting Romero mentally

Is Ricky Romero drunk tweeting? There's no need to egg on the people that blast you on twitter by posting statuses like that. It's good to see that he cares that he's struggling but keep that emotion off the computer keyboard and use that extra motivation in your next start.

Lawrie did basically the same thing last night. JP Arencibia insulted his Twitter haters last month and then started mashing in the month of May.

Preferably, you'd hope that they wouldn't do bother with it, but I don't see a real problem with this, nor do I think there's a good reason to care about it.

Ricky is a guy people like to pick on, because he's not a "true ace". Whenever he struggles he probably hears a lot of those same comments. Would be annoying opening up your Twitter account and seeing a bunch of negative tweets directed to you.

And I bet Jose didn't get much flack at all during his slump. He's too much of an accomplished hitter for people to bash him so early in the season.

if a pitcher walks 7 and can still keep his team in the game somehow, its not all that bad.

For the record, Jose did go on twitter and rip his "haters" earlier this season when he was struggling. Lawrie, Arencibia, Romero, and Bautista have all done it.

Went looking for Jose ripping his "haters" (I don't have Twitter, by the way) and all I found was mention of how his bashers will later become #twitterbuddies.

Most of his stuff is in Spanish, which, for me, is a much easier read than (his) English. So even if it were a 'ripping of haters,' I'm sure I'm not the only one here who would excuse a Joey-Batts Twitter rant if it were in Spanish. After all, our language evolved from Vulgar Latin.

Ricky Romero, however, is on another plane. His pity party was just unseemly. It's no coincidence he still lives with his parents (during the offseason).

Read them in order. It just gets worse with each tweet. It's veritably pathetic.

Let me borrow one from The Hitch:

(Ricky Romero)'s conduct in (his tweets) is like nothing so much as that of a man who, having relieved himself in his own hat, makes haste to clamp the brimming chapeau on his head.

I would tell Ricky to walk it off, but he needs to work on the walks so... Seriously though, I hate seeing social media like Facebook or Twitter giving grown men a venue to act like teenage girls. It's just pathetic. Man up, Ricky. It's really a nouveau-riche thing to bitch about "haters".

Not even close to "exploding on twitter".
That was nothing.

Athletes need to understand twitter is filled with moronic 12 year old kids, they are going to get stupid "hater" posts no matter what they do.

Just ignore them.

He probably went over the line, probably should have ignored the haters.

But this really isn't that big of a deal. People love to have their guys on twitter to hear their thoughts but the second anyone vents (which is basically the point of twitter) they jump all over the players saying they shouldn't say this or that.
