Trade the pick for some second rounders.

I really don't see anyone near the end of the 1st round that is going to benefit the Grizzlies. Move the pick to the Cavs for the 33rd & 34th picks in this years draft. There you can draft Buford & another player with no obligation to keep them.

he has talent and conditions to be a good shooter. Sometimes in the draft, you look for players with talent for teaching the system to them and maybe they could became better players.

Do you think you can trade #25 for someone like Rush, Lee, Budinger, ...?

Not trying to be too harsh on this as I definitely respect your input. I was just very disappointed with the way he played in the tournament and all season long. I felt that he had a really poor year in terms of his progression.

Honestly, I would probably look to move up, so I would trade it to get a better selection. Assuming we keep it, I might look into Royce White, Fab Melo, JaMychal Green, Festus Ezeli, or Doron Lamb with the 25th.

I'll rather have Jeff Taylor at #25. He's probably the best perimeter defender in the draft, shot 42% from 3 last season and has good size to play the 2 or 3. I'm looking for someone that's NBA ready and I think he would be the best fit.

I would prefer a top ten pick to draft Perry Jones and play him at the 3. (I know that means moving you know who for a good package) If we stay at #25 then we should draft either Fab Melo or Tony Wroten from Washington.

Why? The guy has a horrible bball IQ and will not be able to play defense from the get go.

Those are valid points but we have to acquire a transcending athlete at his position to compete for a championship. At 6'11" and playing the 3 it is hoped he can do enough to compete with the Kevin Durants and Dirk's of the world.

We are at a disadvantage at the point guard currently because our point guard can't stay in front of the elite pg's and is not mentality tough enough in crunch time.

Tony Allen's offense is keeping him from playing more than 30 minutes a game and his inability to stretech the defense with consitent outside shooting allows teams to stack the paint like last years OKC playoff series.

Zach does not play the pick and roll particularly well due to a lack of foot speed but it has balanced out in the past due to his rebounding and offensive production but how much longer can we expect that to last.

The Grizz need a long term solution capable of being instant offense due to the mismatch he physically is like a Kevin Durant at SF, Paul George at SG, and Dirk at PF.

I personally believe this is the most importand draft for the Grizz in the last five years in terms of what potential the organization should do to compete going forward. Many will say I am crying wolf but you have to make moves when you can.

What is the difference between the Lakers and the Grizz going into the off season?

One organization makes it's on fate and the other waits for something to happen!

I disagree on Conley. I thought that he played very good defense on Paul all series long. He attempted to run the offense, but no one moved around and got themselves open. And when he did unload the ball to Rudy Gay, he dribbled around and chucked ill-advised shots.

Tony Allen's defense more than makes up for what he lacks on the offensive end. He is the one untouchable player on the Grizzlies imo. (and is an elite role player)

I agree with you on Zach, but I don't feel that he needs to play the pick and roll. Our spacing is partially the problem and the reason why Rudy appeared so jammed up. We are having two guys post up (sometimes playing them on the high post) without running anything for Gay at all. We put him in iso situations, but we do not utilize his talents. He is effective posting up and can finish at the rim. We forced him to play on the perimeter, and he didn't help himself any by taking such horrible shots all series long.

Yes, PJ III would be a mismatch. But, he lacks the defensive awareness to even earn playing time on our team without being a huge liability. Baylor is known for teaching poor defensive fundamentals and they masked PJ III's abilities by forcing him into a zone. As such, his defense in college will not translate at the next level and that poses a problem for us, as we are a defensively oriented squad. He lacks killer instinct on the offensive end and fails to show up a lot of the time. Basically, he is a poor man's Rudy Gay. But, most were confident that Gay could at least develop offensively. Still, PJ III is duplicative and I think that he is actually less mentally tough than Rudy. So, why swop?

I think you guys sell this pick to L.A. with a future pick. The players available at 25 are primarily SFs and tweeners and I think Memphis' roster has the depth.

I have my doubts on that. Barton's decent and all, but for him to be drafted by the Grizz @ 25 isn't who I have in mind.

Add 20lbs of muscle to him, and he's a top 10-15 player......... I think 25-30 is about right for him..

if you're that desperate to land a U of M player just pick up CDR - he's a UFA now. Then use your pick on something that has more potential.
