When Jeremy Lin's agent, Roger Montgomery, said earlier this week that he doesn't have "assurances" from the Knicks that his client will be back with the team, perhaps Goran Dragic has something to do with that.

Something to be concerned about?
Play time is over.

+ 1

Dragic
Pros: More NBA experience including Euroleague; No history of serious injury; Steve Nash's apprentice for a few years; Better 3 point shooter; Better finisher; Fewer turnovers than Lin

Cons: Will demand more money; Two years older than Lin; Not NY tested; Will need to build chemistry with new team.

Lin
Pros: Showed lots of potential with barely any NBA exp; Better assist numbers than Dragic; Handled the NY spotlight; Performed in some clutch moments. Built some chemistry with existing players; RFA so NY can match; Ratings/sales booster;

Cons: Turnover machine (MIA layed down blueprint to stop him), Meniscus injury (can potentially lead to microfracture surgery). Small sample of Linsanity. Can he sustain the level of play for 82 games? Why was he not drafted and cut twice?

This thread is pointless

Dragic is getting more than MLE.

I have just started reading this thread, but something bothers me.

The article did not say one word about the passing ability of the two guards. That is a strange thing to ignore in PGs, especially for two NBA scouts. Makes me wonder if the "scouts" are for real.

Good posts

Agreed except for finishing ability... Dragic doesnt finish as good as Lin in traffic, but he has developed a deadly 3pter from top of the arc.

Not really. Agent has to convince other organizations that they have a shot at getting Lin in order to get the most/best offers for his client.

And Dragic is getting more than the MLE if he wants it... and there is nothing to suggest that he wouldnt want more.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

The only way someone signs him a contract is if they believe there is a chance the Knicks will not match. It is the agent's job to make GMs believe that.

".just wanna say thanks NEW YORK for making it an unbelievable five months!!" - this part is which sounds (a little) ambiguous...

He's from Cali. Not only does he train there also but sometimes he holds basketball camps. Assuming his contract status and health are not issues, he will be going to Vegas around July. He also has trips to Taiwan and China planned.

His former Coach is holding a basketball camp too, which if Lin shows up wouldn't be surprising..

His camp last summer.

Still butthurt from Lin not playing in the playoffs?

Get over it buddy.

ive stated he is important to the success of the team...him and melo (and amare and tc) operating at 100% with chemistry

Yet you keep harping that Chalmers was able to stop Lin from bringing the ball up. How can a PG who fails at that fundamental task be "important to the success of the team"? You can't have it both ways.

I'm sure he will have adjusted to that next season.

Miami did the same thing to Rose as well.

I agree. Yet Pharmcat keeps mentioning the Miami game as if it were the definitive thumbs down on Lin. But now the young PG is "important to the success of the team"? Is Pharmcat trying to have it both ways?

They also forced Nash into 7 turnovers.
