If we spend all our cap space for the next years in Pau Gasol without fixing the wing issues...well, we are screwed

I don't think you can say that at all.

Yep. He's already lost value. And it's only going to get worse. If he attempts to be a SF and fails at that too (already shown he's not a good PF for a #2 pick) then he'll be known as a "tweener" draft bust and his value will be in the toilet.

Wow ... Intriguing only because I'm already anxious to see how a few stats will be twisted in such a way that this may actually appear accurate a few years down the road. A 9/5 will increae to 12/7, yet there will be some factor that suggest he's worse ...

The most likely trade for Pau would have to be us hitting the cap and then trading $14 mil in outgoing for Pau's $19 mil coming back. I just don't see that as a likely scenario.

We are beginning a 3-year build plan around Rubio/Love ... Gasol is a veteran and a short-term (but significant) upgrade to our roster. We can overpay a SG/SF too, and while those are clear needs, I do not see any of them as game changers. Gasol is a player that is potentially available and one I believe could help us the most.

We could also spend $8 million on extending Beas, keep Webster for $5-6 million option, and keep Darko ($5 million). Now that's what I would cal lbeing screwed.

 Those aren't the only two choices.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

If you're going to make an antagonizing comment, at least be fair. I said his trade value will only get worse. I'm not predicting he's going to be a worse player, obviously.

It's awful early to basically say D-Williams won't improve next year and is an absolute failure at PF already, and will fail at SF as well. I'd say there is a pretty good chance he improves, whether his value does or not depends on how much he improves.

I wouldnt say D-Will has been that bad of a failure but i dont think he will ever be a good full time SF. Will he ever live up to his daft position? I doubt it. To maximize him i think he can play the role of a stretch 4.

He's certainly got some skills, but became clear he needs time to adapt to NBA. Alot of expectation that he'd be more NBA ready, but some guys just dont click as well when they go from bring THE guy to A guy on the floor. Early he showed some signs of being a game changer, but over time, proved his passing, off the ball production, and defense all needed to get better. Nonetheless, the guy has potential to create miss matches ... going to take him a year or two.
