I'm not that upset just a bunch of low first round to second round prospects now if we have nobody at the combine then I'm really upset.

Idk if this has been posted yet, or if its circulating around some other thread, but I thought this was pretty interesting and deserving of its own thread.

Apparently Stan was in his office all day, and Martins decided to wait until Stan left for the day to fire him via phone call. I have no idea if thats true or not, but Jeff seems absolutely livid at the way Alex handled the entire situation.

stan doesn't even care if he was fired. he said it multiple times so why is jeff mad?

Not much in the Dwight interview. A good interview, nevertheless. Not sure what could be construed as "old and inaccurate."

If I'm not mistaken there was a report claiming that Dwight called the DeVos family after the Atlanta game that he would NOT play for SVG. Extremely specific but turns out it was wrong because it was reported that a call had never taken place and that he wasn't playing because we found out that he had an herniated disk.

And how do you sense a certain attitude between Howard and his girl when NONE of them said anything about his free agency, especially her, she never said ANYTHING. And why are we privileged to know what FO is doing with Dwight? And because we don't know, how do we make an accurate conclusion? The conclusion just became what we think is going on and not by actual events on what is going on.

Well, that's the problem here right? All of this is speculation, and the reporters aren't only reporting the speculation their hearing, but adding in some of their own. This isn't investigative journalism, its superficial and based on heresay, and you have to do a lot of reading between the lines, because everybody will lie at the drop of a hat. I wish we could get the 60 minutes news crew to do the reporting, but we're stuck with all these hacks. As it turns out, Sheridan is full of it as many of you saw through. But, I didn't really focus on the Dwight is getting traded immediately part, just believed that if Dwight isn't buying into the process, that the Magic are definitely prepared to ship him out too. I don't think it goes to the deadline to get a final approval from Dwight. I believe that Martins has contingency plans this summer if he doesn't get what he needs from Dwight before the season starts. I doubt we go through what we did last year.

Who knows though? Dwight could be completely out of the loop for the entire process and then asked for his approval after the fact, but that would be a horrible way to go about this. I guess I feel the inevitable coming on though. I have a sinking feeling that Dwight really doesn't want to be here, and I do sense a certain attitude of unhappiness from him, and yeah, a bit of hostility from his girl btw. I hope its just skepticism on his part, but my gut says its something else. I think he wants to start fresh somewhere else. I hope I'm wrong, but probably why I tend to believe reports with this storyline, because I'm skeptical too.

I agree, I just think that's the perfect example though.

It would've been too easy to pick Alford, just because that's what the fans wanted, it was a low-risk move. If it didn't work out (which it wouldn't have), then he could've easily escaped blame.

But he ignored the hype, believe in his conviction, and made the choice based on what he knew to be correct. It takes a ton of confidence to do something like that, because if Miller flopped, he would've most likely been fired.

Knicks signed Woodson to a 3 yr extension. At least we don't have to worry about them taking a quality coach from our pool.

I'm starting to not give a damn about this team. Ownership has hundreds of millions of dollars invested in this club and I feel like many of us are more emotionally invested then them... So damn sad.

Things are FINALLY starting to go in the right direction though!

We're getting a new GM, new HC... we actually have a 1st rounder this year, and when Dwight's contract is over, we'll have a boatload of cash to spend.

I feel great about everything IF we sign a great GM AND get Dwight to resign. If not, we're going to suck for a while. Or worse, be average for a while.
