Cubs @ Dodgers [05/26/07] Game Thread (Game 47 of 162)

Post#1 » by mattbulls » Sat May 26, 2007 6:25 am

The Cubs play sometime tommorow.
I think 2:55 on fox.
I have to work so I don't have to watch! Lucky me!
2 picthcher start the game.
1 teams bullpen blows it.

We complain.

(Author's note): The bolded part may actually become:
Our pitchers pitch well.
But we have no clutch hitting.
So we still complain.

Another 2:55 Start. I hate these.
Oh well good news for you out-of-town fans.
Also Sunday's game will be on WGN.

We could win too!

I felt guilty.

I've taken a break from watching the games and posting in the game threads this week. After the Celtics getting crushed in the lottery, I thought I might have had suicidal tendencies going straight to the Cubs again. But, I'm back to complain.

By the way, whenever I see Boby Howry lately, my stomach pre-emptively feels nauseous. It just knows a kick to the balls is coming.

It's not just that. Being a Cubs fan, you develop a strong "intimate" relationship with this team which differs from all other teams in sports. Every time they hurt you, you always forgive them and come back to them.

Why does every announcer say the "Cubs are good with RISP"

It definitely doesn't seem like it.

Nice back to back opposite field shots!

But the Cubs should be up by more than that, Hendrickson struggled big time in the second. Blanco can't move the runner over, having Zambrano bunting was stupid and after taking the lead you just feel the Cubs lost their discipline at the plate. It's all those little things that can make a difference later on and will over the course of a season.
