Should Rasmus continue batting 2nd?

I always thought he was the most logical choice to bat 2nd. Its where he's had his most success in the big leagues too.

Do you guys agree with me?
If so where would you bat KJ and Yunel?

I would put Colby 5th for now. Not your typical OBP guy, he is more of a slugger now.

When Vlady comes up, I wouldn't mind the following:

1) Escobar
2) Rasmus
3) Encarnacion
4) Bautista (give teams a different look)
5) Guerrero
6) Lawrie
7) Arencibia
8) Davis
9) Johnson

I would put Johnson at 9 because of his high Ks rate. This is one way for him to get more information on the pitcher.

If you can have 2 Leadoff batters at the top and bottom of your order, you'll fair well,

I actually prefer him in the 6th spot, not because I don't like him but I think there are better options plus I like his power in the middle of the line up. Hopefully by the end of this year/ start of next year the line up looks like

Johnson
Lawrie
Bats
Mystery LHB
EE
Rasmus
Escobar
Snider
JPA/TDA

exactly, its just a streak, still hasn't relatively proven that he can hit for contact and avg, and get on base consistently

His best numbers by far in his career came out of the 5th hole actually, but I don't buy into that stuff. It's just a coincidence that when we're healthy that's the spot he should have, Thames can't be hitting there anymore. JPA can hit there vs. lefties though, shift Colby down one or two.

He's too young for us to give up on his ever being able to hit LHP.

I will refer you to Curtis Granderson's 2011 season. He hit Lefties for the first time in his career. And he was outstanding. Especially at 30 years of age. If it can happen in the later years, I say we give the kid some time.

I agree but for now he's a ~.200 hitter vs. lefties, hitting 7th in a good lineup when they're against a lefty isn't a bad thing for him imo. The bad thing would be giving him offdays vs. lefties which would kill his confidence imo.

He's already been given several off-days vs. LHP

I only count 5 off days all year (most of which he later pinch hit in), which is maybe a game or two more than he should have gotten anyways for regular rest. You need to rest him eventually, and it's better to rest him against a lefty than a righty.
