With the 259th Pick in the BAT 7.0 Draft the Detroit Pistons Select...

Corey Maggette

Had to go with the BPA right here.

Despite a down and chaotic season with the dysfunctional Bobcats, Maggette still remains a talented, physically rugged/gifted player that will provide another potent offensive weapon off the bench that can attack the basket and put pressure on opposing defenses by drawing fouls like it's going out of style (something that he's always been great at doing). He'll also give the Pistons an excellent insurance policy in case Carmelo Anthony is injured by being able to play starter minutes at SF.

We look for Corey to put the past one and a half seasons behind him and return to the player that made his impact with the Warriors as a fiery beast of an individual and a handful for opposing teams to contend with.

Versatile guard/forward Terrence Williams. Very young still with a very good all around game similar to Evan Turner.

Coach Collins will maximize his talents.

Brooks was never on an NBA roster at the start of this season so you cannot pick him. Please pick again.

With the 265th Pick in the BAT 7.0 Draft, the Detroit Pistons select...

KWAME BROWN

Though Kwame Brown has obviously not lived up to his lofty expectations as the no.1 overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft, he never the less has become one of the better backup centers in the NBA. A big, athletic and powerful 7 footer that has the mobility of a power forward, Brown has carved a niche for himself as a stalward post defender, especially man-to-man. Using his great combination of size and athleticism, Brown is able to contain most opposing bigs one-on-one allowing the rest of the defense to focus on their man.

The Pistons are pleased to welcome Brown back to the organization and look forward to having his presence off the bench felt. Offensively we expect nothing more from him than put backs off of rebounds and the occasional dunk in transition, both of which he is quite capable of doing. Brown's vast playoff experience, including multiple trips with the championship Lakers will help this team as it too anticipates a deep run in the playoffs on it's way to a title.

The combination of Brown and Ayon give the Pistons 2 big, strong, athletic near 7 footers that can defend and rebound the ball to backup Duncan and West (who also are excellent defenders). The quartet should offer opposing teams fits come playoffs when half court basketball becomes the norm.

Pick 269 has unti 1:34pm...then 270 (and 271 since it's the same GM) is up. Once 270/271 goes, we start 2 hour clocks. Meaning at latest by 4:34 2 hour clocks start (can be sooner obviously).

Return to New York Knicks
