The @BlueJays have recalled infielder MIKE McCOY from Las Vegas (AAA) and have optioned outfielder ERIC THAMES to Las Vegas.

Wooooooo-Hooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Imo, Mccoy is underrated.

.238 BA, with an OBP of .381..........only 19 strikeouts in 44 games, with 31 walks!!!

I think we all knew this day was coming soon. So who will play LF now?

Rajai? Seems like he's the only option on the roster right now?

McCoy will likely split time with Davis.

What I'd ideally like to see is;

LF- Gomes (ala Adrian Gonzales in BOS)
CF- Rasmus
RF- JoeyB

That way you still have Davis available for where I feel he's most effective. The 7th/8th inning as a pinch runner/defensive replacement.

Bat Lind 5th (when he doesn't deserve it), get demoted
Put Japanese guy in pivotal situation (when he never earned it), he gets DFA'd
Bat Thames 5th (when he doesn't deserve it), he gets demoted it

Can't disagree here, but It's odd the Jays flush guys right out of the 4-5 spot and send them to Vegas without batting them 8th or 9th.

Wondering if the move was made more because of Yunel's and KJ's injuries. Either way, I'm starting to wonder if the Jays are going to be able to ever develop their prospects properly.

Would have been nice to hold off on this for a few more days with the righties the O's have going, but I guess they needed the infield help.

With Davis as the LF replacement, we're simply going from terrible to bad there. He can't hit RHP. Travis Snider really needs to get healthy and fast.

I would like to see him pitch again.

I wonder why teams don't do that more often. Bring in a guy, that is not overwhelming (especially a posistion player) but can hit his spots, just to throw off the timing of some hitters.

I would give Gose a chance to pitch in the major(supposedly he could hit 90mph). Let him field/pitch/bat/steal. Especially if it's interleauge.

LF: Rasmus
CF: Gose
P: Romero

If Romero struggles with a certain batter, they can try:

LF: Romero
CF: Rasmus
P: Gose
For a couple batters, and then easily put romero back on the mound.

If anything, this move would just get the other manger confused, and there is no minor leauge pitching info on gose.

----

In an AL game, for example, if gose was on the bench, and we bring him into pitch (Cordero is the outgoing pitcher), and then move him to the OF (Davis is the outgoing player), and bring Jannsen out of the bullpen, would we lose the DH posistion?

Cordero 1, JPA 2, Cooper 3, Johnson 4, Lawrie 5, Escobar 6, Davis 7, Rasmus 8, Bautista 9, Encarnacion 0
Becomes
Gose 1, JPA 2, Cooper 3, Johnson 4, Lawrie 5, Escobar 6, Davis 7, Rasmus 8, Bautista 9, Encarnacion 0
Becomes
Janssen 1, JPA 2, Cooper 3, Johnson 4, Lawrie 5, Escobar 6, Rasmus 7, Gose 8, Bautista 9, Encarnacion 0

Is it possible to not lose your dh if the pitcher (gose) takes the field, but posistion player (on the field, doesn't take the mound)

95mph it's been said, but that's beside the point. Even before this torrid hot-streak, Gose was a fantastic prospect. Aside from D'Arnaud, who I believe is the best position prospect in all of baseball (sorry Manny Machado), Gose is our top position prospect. You don't take guys like that and throw them on the mound.

Brett Lawrie could hit 90mph, and so could Bryce Harper, but you'd never even think of putting them there. They're WAYYYYYYY too valuable to risk injury. I'm a proponant of leaving Gose in AAA for the entire year. The team has made it pretty clear that they don't plan on making substantial moves this season, which would put at risk what we're shaping up to be in 2014. Don't rush Gose, we don't need a case of Travis Snider v 2.0 on our hands. Let's make sure that when he's up, it's for good.

I was worried this was going to happen with Hutchison, the yo-yoing, but it seems he's here to stay. The Hutchison move really gave me confidence that AA and Tinnish know exactly where all of their guys are at, and what they're projecting to be. They must have been laughing in the pre-season when lists had Hutch anywhere from 4-9 on our top 10...the same thing they were doing when they traded away Nestor Molina for Sergio Santos. You think Sergio's having a bad year with his injuries, go look at Molina's year. HAHAHAHA

Finally. A 4.5th OF playing as our no. 3 OF. It was long overdue.

I'm just tired seeing McCoy up, with so many prized prospects why not actually see what we have on a major league level.
