Questions.
1. how is derrick rose doing? he's dreamy
2. you seem upset about something, may I ask what?
3. truth of the matter is, I didn't read any of that because I assumed it was a salty bulls fan ranting. Was I correct?

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
Shaq was a 32 year old in the worst shape of his life and many off the court concerns along with passion for the game concerns. Don't even try to compare that to the best big in the game at age 26 with a perfect body/conditioning and other than the end of this year a clean bill of injury history.
Ya'll need to GTFO of here foreal if you think some crummy package of Turner, Vucevic, Thad Young and a mere pick is going to land Dwight Howard. Orlando is going to get the King's ransom for Dwight. LOL at bringing up names like post 30 Iverson, Shaq, KG, etc. When they were Dwight Howard's age and had his conditioning, there was no chance they would be available in a trade. And that's the point.

^ This guy is still mad??
Do You ignore facts? We beat you when you were completley healthy and we had injured players by 20 in the reg season.
Back on topic...
Im not going to get to hyped up for D-Will because I think he wants to go somewhere with bigger and brighter lights then what we got. Im really excited to see what we do with the draft and the upcoming offseason.
My question for Sixerfan , have we had any discussions with the T-wolves? They have talked about adding a veteran presence for awhile now and they have some Interesting pieces.

Brand and Vucevic can play backup to this team.
This team can also trade Brands last year also for another good player a team might want to unload. This teams options are limitless.
i find it amazing how hard headed "sixer" fans are.
It's amazing that you think your team is good enough to win the NBA final's, i bet you think Boston beating you guys was a fluke and got lucky.
You do realize that your team was the 8th seed correct? you do realize that your team was 4 games over .500 correct?
you do realize that the only reason your team made it to the second round of the playoffs was because of the following:
Rose (Out)
Noah (Out)
Deng (Injured)
your "nba final's potential team" was playing against our bench players all series, all of you "fans" do realize this?
i find it amazing with rose we spanked you guys by 19 point's then all of your fan's get hard because the beat a team with bench players?
how can you guys be proud of that, me as a bull's fan i knew our chances were done, so going to the 2nd round meant nothing, because i was expecting a 7th title.
the ignorance of this fan base, is by far the most hard headed i have ever witnessed.
Miami is your only roadblock? lol realize that you played a ancient Boston team, and you pretty much played the Bulls Bench, and not that i care, but if it wasnt for C.J Watson to make that moronic pass to a 48 percent free throw shooter, it could of went to 7 games.
by all mean's not sour or anything cause of the loss, i was sour when derrick went down, but i just find it the ignorance amazing.
i was at game 6 in Philadelphia, everyone making fun of Rose and Noah and throwing it in my face that the Sixer's Have won?
snap back into reality the only reason you made it to the 2nd round, was for what i stated above, i just found it very funny of the "Miami is your only roadblock"
you do realize that you were 4 games over .500? and the 8th seed
do you guys just ignore fact's?

Bunch of dumb and rude comments.
I think its pretty clear that, the Eastern Conference championship will go through Miami. Which is just what he said. Most of us on here are pretty realistic that this team will need some serious changes to get anywhere near past Miami, and that isn't saying that there are other teams in front of the Sixers as currently constituted, which is pretty much the crux of this thread.
If you can't bother to read, understand the discussion, and post something of actual content without just being off base and insulting, then don't.
Now, lets everyone get back on topic. Thanks!

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
yes shaq was awful and couldn't play, oh wait. He was still the best bigman in the game. like you said superstars don't get traded at 26 but those superstars also aren't coming off the most acrimonious season in recent memory, those superstars aren't coming off of surgery usually, those superstars are usually locked up for a number of years also.
They are going to get lowballed. Its what happens to every superstar that has been traded. You can use your "gtfo" theory but I'm gonna go w/ as much precedent as I can. Should someone come out with a jaw dropping offer, sure he's the center in this league. The great majority of offers are going to be similar to the ones given for other superstars. I see something similar to the Cp3 trade.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
Steve Kyler from rotoworld had a few thought/opinions on the Sixers offseason...
http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-am-76ers- ... new-a-deal
According to those with knowledge of his thinking, Williams is seeking a new deal similar in size to teammate Thaddeus Young who signed a 5-year, $42 million deal this season.
There has been talk that the 76ers would opt to use their one-time Amnesty provision on Brand and dump his contract off the books in order to clear cap space. Sources close to Brand say he would be open to exercising his Early Termination Option on that final year in order to stay in Philadelphia, if a new multi-year deal were offered.
It’s unclear if that’s the direction the 76ers want to go, but it’s an option that will be thoroughly discussed in the coming weeks.

Yea, the big question is, would he be like...
"I made my millions, I'm set...I just want to be part of this team and help them get better - I'm willing to take a 2 year deal around the MLE"
or would he be like
"you still owe me 18.2 million so I'd be happy opting out to stay here for about 25 million over 3 years"

If Elton opted out and re-upped for something around 2 years, 9 million, I will buy his authentic jersey in every color.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
I would love to have Brand back, but I didn't even realize that he had an ETO. If he was willing to exercise it though, would he be inclined to take a salary of about a third of what he is scheduled to make next year and possibly even less? He is such a leader and can still play some when healthy, but his best days are clearly behind him and the injuries may begin to mount. If he would come back for 2-3 years at about $5 million per however, I'd probably be happy having him back. Could Philly do any better with the MLE?
Realistically though, I'm struggling to imagine Brand leaving all those millions behind.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
Wow. That would be something with Brand.
Then again, everyone just needs to look at Richard Jefferson. He opted out of 15m, and then resigned for 39m/4 (in effect a 3 year 24m extension, although by opting out and getting less in the first year he saved SAS from being over the tax and taking a lux tax hit.
I would assume Brand would only do something for similar, and that raises the possibility of paying him 12m a year in 3 years and not being able to straight amnesty him then (new contract). I think anyone expecting 2/20 needs to move their expectation up, at least to 3/30 {2/20 would basically mean he's taking the vet min in 2 years, and playing for us instead of ring chasing at his location of choice.}
{Also, requisite, Steve Kyler seems to say dumb things quite often. He's the guy that thinks New York Knicks will let Lin go because they would be worried about having a high payroll, and therefore are 90% likely to not match an offer from the Nets across town if the Nets make one... I take anything attributed to him with a massive grain of salt.}

He wouldn't take much less. If he is owed 18 million, maybe he signs a 3 year, 30 million dollar deal. He would be hard pressed to get $5.5 million per year after next season so he gets his money and we get $8million in cap relief for the upcoming season.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
Would anyone want him back for 2-3 years at anywhere from 7 million up per? I wouldn't...that's too much for another backup. He would get in the way of signing real difference makers and that contract would not be tradeable at his age.

Why do want we split his 18mil ova 3 years, to me that's fair. I could see the organization doin this because Collins loves Brand and always wants to have that Veteran Big. For there right price I would like to have EB back.

If Elton indeed terminates his contract and signs lets say 2-year, 10 mil contract, and accepts backup role.. He should get nobel prize for nobility..
He is 33.. After that, he can jump into Tony Battie's role..

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
If Elton considers this, it really makes you wonder if he feels somewhat responsible for not getting us to where we expected to be. He might think he didn't earn what he's getting due to injuries and declining production.
I really love the guy, but I think the odds of this are low (assuming he was losing money on the new deal compared to what we still owe). If he was re-signed, I think it would be time to move Thad to the highest bidder (pick/expiring/other position need/etc). One has to assume we add another C so that would leave us with Brand/Allen/Vucevic/New Addition - where would the minutes be for Thad (and don't say SF)?.

I agree with the last 2 statements let Brand come off the bench and trade Thad. I really hopes this happens
