The 2012 NBA Draft: 6th & 11th picks, and some random 2nds.

It'd be very interesting to see Moultrie, Zeller, and Leonard on the floor at the same time together. Moultrie is much lighter than the other two, but it'd be interesting to see how he used his quickness against their bulk.

Reading his bio, Moultrie reminds me of a younger LMA who likes to attack the basket more. I have always thought that LMA would benefit from a banger like Sullinger. But I also think the Blazers need to take the most talented player.

I am very intrigued by one of these guys at #11, or a trade back.

I hope Ford is right and Lillard does go in the top 10 because that might help Marshall slide to 11.

I would say that's about right. The Blazers had ZBo and Martell on the roster before that draft, so SG and PF weren't exactly positions of need going into that 06 draft. In fact, I particularly remember a lot of Blazer fans being upset over drafting Roy because it would take minutes away from Martell.

So whats the consensus on him? How does he project in the NBA? How would he fit next to LMA?

Moultrie would be a fantastic draft pick for a playoff team, but a mediocre pick for a lottery team. Good chance to succeed on the bench somewhere, only a small chance he succeeds as a starter.

Henson and Zeller are similar IMO.

The TWolves did that when they drafted Rubio and Flynn back to back. They never ended up being able to get much when they were forced to trade one away.

This was the basis of my opinion, however I believe both will be pretty good as opposed to flynn turning out to be a bust.

DX has us taking Jared Sullinger with our 6 pick passing up Barnes, Henson, Lamb and Lillard. It also has us taking Kendall Marshall with our 11th pick, passing up PJIII, T-Jones, Zeller and Waiters. so we would have a big and a pg. So what do you guys think, keep in mind teams needs ARE given consideration.

I'd love those two picks.

But Paul Allen mentioned injury concerns will be heavily weighted in future player considerations. Something tells me Sullinger will not pass the trainer's inspection without a red flag.

Not impressed by Sullinger.. Plays the exact same position as our best player and showed he struggles against taller defenders in the tourny (which he will see night in and night out in the NBA)/

He'll play center in the NBA. And I don't think it's fair to judge him by one game in which he was doubled by Thomas Robinson and a giant white guy.

Edit: Actually, if you just look at his games versus Cody Zeller, the Plumlees, Meyers Leonard, Withey/Robinson and Sacre he wasn't far off his season averages. I think he'll do fine in the NBA.

I like Sullinger, I think he's going to be ZBo/Al Jefferson style PF/C. In the right situation with start minutes, I'd fully expect him to be a 20/10 guy.

I would question Sullingers fit next to Aldridge for the Blazers though. While Sullinger will be able to rebound and score around the basket, I don't think he'll be very good defensively, at least not early on in his career. That'll put a lot of defensive pressure on Aldridge.

If Sullinger is the BPA at one of the Blazers picks, they should take him regardless though. Taking the BPA should be the priority regardless of who's available wherever the Blazers pick.

brooklyn would be like the patrick ewing draft all over again. and new orleans just because the league sure found a buyer just in time.
