Two questions for you then....what did Derrick Williams show you to prove he has more value other than being selected number two overall? And what hypothetical player would you trade DW for that wasn't short sighted? He plays behind Kevin Love. He is in no way a SF in this league. What am I missing? I get that people want more than Kevin Martin for him....but aside from one game vs the Clippers, what the hell has he shown us or the rest of the league?

Derrick showed some flashes of being a very good player on offense to me. He was very inconsistent, but he was a 20 year old who had no training camp. He was starting to play really well in february, IRRC and then once Rubio went down him and the rest of the team failed.

We'd have three amazingly efficient shooters to put around the ultra efficient Pek and spread the floor for Ricky to drive and dish. We'd be a top 5 offense in the league, probably.

Eh, our offense might be pretty good(top 5 might be a stretch, because no one could create their own shot that well), but our defense would be bottom 5 for sure. Rubio is the only one who would be above-average, Pek was solid before injuries and Love is maybe average....then you have Martin and Budinger who are maybe the worst in the NBA at their positions...

I'd trade Williams for Iggy before I move him for Martin + Budmaster. Even if Iggy is overpayed.

this...if there was no extension in place if we pulled the trigger on this then it would be beyond (Please Use More Appropriate Word) as it is stupid with an extension imo. i'd rather dangle williams in a S&T package for gordon or batum or as said go after iggy or a few other guys before i fell back to kevin freakin martin.

Except that Iguodala might not be available for only Williams and filler. I would not do that deal if I were the Sixers GM.

Remember that Kevin Martin's contract expires at the end of next season, for me that means two things:

- Martin's contract doesnt' look as bad as it could be two seasons ago. I don't think Houston is going to be in panic mode about dumping him this offseason. If they can find a good deal, they will probably trade him away, but not at any price. They can simply keep him for one more season and let him expire, or look to move him near the trade deadline as an expiring contract. That's what I would do.

-We can't trade much future value for a player that could be leaving next summer. If we do that deal, we could be dealing a former #2 pick for a one year rental of Kevin Martin, and that is certanly a bad move. I don't think our front office would do that. I think that value wise it's an ok move, but the contract uncertainty makes it also a very risky move for us.

If the Sixers aren't willing to part with Iggy for mainly instant expirings (Webster and Miller), then I say that they can feel free to keep him and continue to run the treadmill. Assuming that they could even get Williams for Iggy and his contract, much less acting like that's not even good enough for him, is just silly to me.

Amen .... alleluia

We need some defense, but wow, lots of $$ ... I'd over pay on a few guys out there, but geeeez, we got to unload some guys like Beas, Wes, and Web for good value to make it all work out
