This isn't even funny.

Rangers just put on a clinic, how to win a WS.

After coming up short in back to back world series, can't blame them.

Pro-rated 6 mil for 1 year. I wanted to ask this yesterday, but wouldn't Roy have made sense for us, given how Drabek looks to be falling apart again, and given that we have absolutely no legitimate 6th starter until/if Dustin comes back strong?

Oswalt would have had no interest in coming here and the Jays would have had no interest in spending money to win this season. They'll go with Cecil eventually if it gets bad enough with Drabek (or one of the others).

I believe it was rumored in the off-season that Oswalt had no interest in signing with the Jays. Given AA's lack of interest in spending on anything other than the pen, I doubt Oswalt was even a glimmer in his eye, either.

Roy Oswalt made it clear that he wants to play close to home (somewhere in the Middle West). He has also stated that he was going to wait until June before signing because he wanted to be with his children until they're out of school for the summer.

I wonder, though, if that's not just an attempt to save face after all clubs passed on signing him to a multi-year deal.
