It wouldn't have been based on SSS. It would be demoting an inferior player and bringing up the better one. Other than year 2011, he's done a decent job in the ML, and that's with him being couple years younger than Thames. If anything, Snider provides non-negative value with his defense. As for Gose, he was rushed through each level. He's a september call-up at the earliest.

He is barely above .300 OBP for his career. He beats Thames career OBP by .001.

He is better defensively, but I'd keep Snider down a while longer to give him more time to develop. We can't keep jerking him around, if he comes up it needs to be permanent.

I'm all for Snider coming up but the timing is wrong. He's cooled off a lot in Vegas and he is struggling against LHP. We need him but why make him a worse player by calling him up now, hes still got things to learn in AAA.

Thames is 25, Snider was 20-22 when he was playing in the majors. He already spent enough time in AAA against junk pitchers. It's time to bring him up when he gets back from the wrist injury.

No. This is his last year in the minors regardless. He needs more time.

I think Thames is young and still needs time and confidence he needs to go beat up on some pitching down in the Minors and come back up as Snider as hopefully Lind and Vladdy. I would like to see the Ben F. go as our extra guy. Next year Omar wont be back so that gives us another spot we can keep McCoy or bring up Gose. You guys forget a guy playing EVERY DAY is better then having him ride bench in the Majors. In game action is best sitting on an MLB Bench every couple games is not as good for his development.
