Want/Dont Want
Name players you want and dont want. Whether through trades or draft (5 for each)
Obviously arent getting Dwight Howard so keep it somewhat reasonable.
Want:
Kendall Marshall--Love pass first
Josh Smith--All star PF
Rudy Gay--Scorer on the wing
Goran Dragic
Rondo--love his game
Dont want
Pau Gasol----Age and salary to far up there
Kyle Lowry-- Cancer player
World Peace---of Crap
Eric Gordan---(to much like Ben Gordan (over hyped)
Austin Rivers--alittle overhyped ---bust in the making

Re: Want/Dont Want
Want (draft):
Perry Jones-- Been a star athlete since HS. SF skills in a 6'10 body.
Austin Rivers-- A lights out scorer who plays with alot of emotion. A real competitor.
Moe Harkless-- Great motor and all around player. Could be the steal of the draft.
Quincy Miller-- Was a Kevin Durant clone before his ACL injury. Currently lacks the speed and explosiveness, but the drive and skillset is still there.
Kyle O'Quinn--He has a motor in him that doesnt stop, great defense and an excellent re-bounder. 2nd round pick
Dont Want (draft):
Kendall Marshall-- A un-athletic pass 1st PG that cant shoot or defend. Only thing he has is passing.
Zeller/Leonard--Sorry, but i dont trust drafting "White" players. If it sounds f'd up, sorry, but very very few of them workout. Too many busts that didnt live up to their potential or hype.
Damian Lillard-- Great scorer, but was in a piss-poor conference. How would he have played against the real schools?
Royce White-- Great skills, but mentally this guy is f**ked in the head. No thanks.
John Henson-- I cant pin exactly why, but i dont trust him. I think he will be a bust.
Want (NBA):
Terrence Williams--
Brandon Jennings-- A PG that averaged 19/5.5/3.5. Can go off and score 40+ if he has to.
Serge Ibaka-- Could be much better on a team that could use him to his full abilities. Monster.
Andrew Bynum-- Id hit it. Has some maturity issues still, but his game is on point.
Josh Smith-- A SF that puts up 19/10/2 out of position as a PF. Has heart and plays hard.
Dont Want (NBA):
Pau Gasol-- Old Emo Headcase not worth his contract. Pass.
Lamar Odom-- See Pau Gasol description above.
Michale Beasley-- Ive been on and off about him. This month is off.
Any Player Over The Age Of 30-- We are rebuilding, not retooling.
Any Player Making More Than $13M-- We are rebuilding under a new CBA. These are what you stay away from to come out on top.

Re: Want/Dont Want
Want (Draft):
Perry Jones- I like his skill set, I think he has a very unique set of skills.
Austin Rivers- He is very crafty, and he'll learn to use his left, this kid has heart, I'd like him at 13 if available.
Don't Want (Draft)- The same as Kerrsed.
Want (NBA):
Andrew Bynum- A franchise cornerstone piece. I believe he could average 24-26 PPG with 12 RPG. The Lakers don't use his properly, and Pau clogs the lane for him. No idea how the Suns would be able to obtain him.
Michael Beasley- Put him with a dominate center and this guy could be a crappy second or good third option scoring wise. He could be had for cheap this offseason and he's still very young and raw.
Goran Dragic- Still love this kid. It's hard shutting down lefty's, look at Harden and Ginobli. Knows how to pass, and is a great scorer and passer when he's confident.
Don't Want (NBA):
Brandon Jennings- He jacks shots up. He's too skinny and has absolutely no defense. Some of his decisions are questionable.
Lamar Odom- Lacks heart unless he's playing for the Lakers. His wife in Scottsdale would be too much fakeness in one city.
Eric Gordon- Overrated, volume shooter, I don't see him on a championship caliber team. Jamal Crawford 2.5.
Kyle Lowry- Whiny baby. I don't like his shooting mechanics. Too short.
I propose we trade Gortat to Portland for No 6, draft Thomas Robinson (unless Drummond is on the board still, if Thomas is gone, then go with Perry Jones). Draft Austin Rivers at 13. Sign Michael Beasley/Goran Dragic. Next offseason while everyone (including the Lakers) are trying to get Dwight Howard the Suns sneak in and give Bynum a near max contract.
Dragic/Rivers/Beasley/Robinson/Bynum with a good bench of Dudley/Frye/Lopez/Morris.

Re: Want/Dont Want
Wants:
James Harden - fap fap fap
Andrew Bynum - No brainer. PHX training staff would help him stay healthy too.
Jerryd Bayless - Hometown boy, being back in PHX might have a breakout year. (ie. Frye)
Brook Lopez - re-up RoLo and pair them together, could be interesting
Michael Beasley - 20 ppg scorer, young, athletic, chip on shoulder
Anthony Randolph - He's been buried in rotatations, young, nice skillset for our system
Lamar Odom - I believe he can still ball, always lit up the Suns when he was in LA. might rejuvenate career here. Brings vet experience.
Draft: Sullinger, Lamb, Rivers, Wroten
Don't Want:
Eric Gordon - agree that he is over hyped.
OJ Mayo - see Eric Gordon.
Jamal Crawford - this is the type of signing that would keep us in mediocrity.
Draft: Anybody's inferior younger/older brother/twin.

Kevin Love
Ersan Ilyasova

Ricky Rubio
Don't want:

Javale McGee
Brandon Jennings

I'd also be into Josh Smith on the team, but that was one too many for this little game.

Re: Want/Dont Want
Want
In the draft I want PJones, Rivers, Marshall, Henson...that order. Although it changes often haha
James Harden - LOVE his game. He's so close to being a 22-5-4 guy as a starter...
Eric Gordon - He can be a star, he just needs some talent around him and health. We can give him both. Something like $50m over 5...
Courtney Lee - I like this guy, always have. Tough, defensive, good athlete and good attitude. Could be Raja 2.0
Josh Smith - as others have said. Always rated him as the perfect tweener for the Suns system
OJ Mayo - as the 'in case we can't get Gordon or Harden' sweepstake
Jerryd Bayless - love his game as well...less pressure as the Barbosa type here off the bench, just SCORE the ball
Anthony Randolph - ONLY at less than $5m a year...he'll get a lot more from some dumb team
Don't want
Gasol...obvious reasons
Pierce - can't stand him, old...
Allen - would be a step backawards in trying to get younger
Kevin Martin - too expensive, too fragile and one dimensional
Michael Beasley - overrated, one dimensional, head case. PASS...
There's loads more but I got work in 20min

Re: Want/Dont Want
Want
Eric Gordon - potential stud, but doesn't look like he's going anywhere
Harden -
@ the Suns even having a chance of getting him
Rudy Gay - probably staying in Memphis, but could do wonders on the Suns
Ersan Ilyasova - don't think he'll put up the same monster numbers once teams focus in on him, but he has plenty of talent and is still developing
Kyle Lowry - he needs to be the only primary PG or he turns into a whiner and I don't see Telfail beating him out for the starting job
Don't Want
Bynum - egotistical man child who deserves to be struck by lightning, twice
Batum - overhyped and will be overpaid
Dragic - we got rid of him for a reason, don't want him back and I'm sure he doesn't want to come back
Bayless - may be a local guy, but he hasn't looked good playing in the NBA for some time now
Beasley - he would be arrested in Mexico with 2 tons of weed
OJ Mayo - overhyped bust who hasn't proven anything, yet people still hype his "potential"
Jeremy Lin - way way overhyped, still has many flaws and needs lots of time to develop
Gasol, Pierce, Allen - old old old
Jennings - shot jacker, terribly selfish game, do not want unless its to tank on purpose
Eric Gordon - potential stud, but doesn't look like he's going anywhere

Want (draft):
J. Lamb - a good two-way player, would give us size, athleticism, defense, and skill at the SG position
Q. Miller - has the length and skill to be great on offense and defense
Waiters - has the killer instinct of an NBA star, and can be had in the mid-late first round after a trade
Please add a pick! - for obvious reasons
Don't Want (draft)
Damian Lillard - terrible conference
Damian Lillard - see "2011 NBA Draft"
Damian Lillard - see "available PGs in 2012 NBA free agency" and "2013 NBA Draft PGs"
Want (FA/Trades)
Amnesty Childress
Eat a contract from Pistons and receive 10th pick
Get a PG for a 1-year deal - resign them if it works out, draft a point guard in 2013 if it doesn't
Don't Want (FA/Trades)
Players older than 29 (unless if it's to eat a contract and get a draft pick)

Re: Want/Dont Want
Draft
Want:
- Andre Drummond: Yeah, I'm willing to take a gamble on him if we get #6.
- Quincy Miller: Was considered a Top 5 pick before tore his ACL. Matured alot since then, and coming back a better, smarter player for Baylor. Kevin Durant-lite with good measurements. Falling completely under the radar. (Yes, at 13th) -- (My personal favourite prospect in this draft.)
- PJ3: Another gamble I'm willing to take. Unique skillset for a forward. Potential to be legit- 2nd option on contending team. (If we get #6)
-Harrison Barnes: Yes, I see him falling to 13th. Not worth a Top 7 pick, but I'll snap him up at 13th despite his weaknesses.
- Dion Walters
-Jeremy Lamb
Don't Want
- Any of those bigs (Zeller, Leonand). Doesnt impress me.
- Damien Lillard
- Kendall Marshall: Things may change, but reminds me of Sergio Rodruiguez.
Free Agency
Want:
Michael Beasley: I'll dig it for the potential. Hugely misunderstood and needs a system where he can run.
Robin Lopez: Re-sign him. Good backup, and still young. Showed a tremendous improvement after the All Star Break.
Carl Landry: One year, stop-gap deal if Nash stays, and all 2012 FA's are gone.

Like most of the "want" ideas shown here, but would also add Terence Jones, to add some muscle in the paint and cause it seems he plays well on up-tempo.

If we don't move up
Want:
Ross
Moultrie
Lamb
If we add a later pick:
Harkless
Miller
Kyle O'Quinn- with kerrsed on this, I think he will be better than Markief. I think he can be similar to boozer with a better motor.
Don't want:
Jared sullinger-possibly better Michael sweetney
Perry jones-screams Tim Thomas to me
Rivers-undersized 2, weak, bad defense, chucker, related to doc

Draft Want:
Lamb - Creates his own shot, plays both ways. You have to have a dynamic scorer who creates and demands double teams and then frustrates his people on the other end to be successful long term.
Harkless - Much of the above.
Jones III - Jones has the potential to be a star in this league. I've seen him play. The man is every bit the athletic freak he is touted to be. Has all the tools. We already had our bust on Early Clark so we are due to hit on this one
Marshall - He is a leader. He passes. We need a floor general. The PG crop is getting better the next couple of years but this man will distribute and build others UP big time. None of the upcoming class dish it out like he does. I am not wanting Marshall because he will be a star. I want Marshall because he will add value to all of our players. So in the next couple of years absent Nash our rookies, Gortat, and the others will have much more value in our league to help our rebuilding process. When we have young talent and it is time to get vetran leadership on long contracts he will give us a lot more bang for our buck than any other PG. And because he is not Nash people won't say 'Nash makes them better'. I want Marshall because it is a prudent move to increase the value of our assets in the future to get us back to where we need to be in contention.
Draft Nu-uh:
Rivers - He's not going to be Kobe. Undersized. He'll be a decent backup SG/PG in the Barbosa mold but I would not put a lottery pick for Barbosa. Potential to be a chucker. I'd drop a later first on him in the 20+ range. However, we are going to draft him if everything stays the same most likely. Sarver is a sucker for pedigree.

Want :
-Harden.
Great all-around skillset, would thrive back home in a bigger role, plays a position that lacks quality talent
-Batum.
Another nice all-around player, Shawn Marion with a jump shot + Nash = devastation.
-Amare.
Buy low, sell high. We missed out on the chance to sell him high, but since his trade value is at an all time low we might be able to trade junk to the Knicks for him. Our med staff and Nash would help him bounce back.
J-Smoove.
Nice fit who would be even better playing in the open court away from slug ball iso Joe Johnson.
Don't want.
-Dragic.
Now that he's just off his routine random hotstreak someone will massively overpay for him, and regret it very soon. Hopefully that someone won't be the Suns.
-Jamal Crawford.
Already cancerous in his prime, now he's an over the hill cancer.
Al Jefferson.
Gotta be the winner of the empty stats category.

Want:
-Alonzo Gee
Great defender, gets to the basket, draws fouls and can run a fast break. He's young and if he's available for the right price, I'd love to have him
-Amar'e Stoudemire
As crazy as it sounds, I'd take Stoudemire back if we can trade Warrick and Childress for him. If Nash wants to play three more years I could see Stoudemire playing on the same level for the same amount of time. Maybe he takes a paycut in the final year of his contract like Hedo did when he joined us.
-Kevin Garnett
Automatic from Mid-Range and a very decent postgame. We're missing both in our offense from our bigs. Add his incredible defense, rebounding and intensity, he would be a great fit nex to Nash and Gortat. Imagine Nash on the pick&roll with Gortat, passing to ball to Gortat for an eay layup or to Garnett for the sweet midrange shot. Gortat-Garnett-Hill would be an incredible defensive frontcourt.
-Ray Allen
He fought with injuries this season so it might increase our options of getting him. Remember all these open looks Brown, Dudley and Redd got after a Nash penetration in the paint? Remember how they missed a huge number of it? Now imagine the best three point shooter in the history of the lague taking them. If we draft a wing player, Allen would be the ideal mentor for him.
Do not want
-Michael Beasley
This team needs defense and rebounding and not an inefficient dump player like Beasley, who's not a team player or a good character guy. I want a power forward who bangs inside and not someone who only takes perimeter shots. A guy like Beasley would get destroyed by the western conference power forwards like Gasol, Randolph, Love, Aldridge, Lee, Griffin.
-Goran Dragic
I don't understand why everybody wants him back. He played absolutely terrible in 2 out of 3 seasons he played for us. Now, after a good half of a season you want him back and overpay him? You're crazy.

Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”
