I dont know anything about NCAA anymore, but if people is starting to question AD's skills we could trade #1 for #4 and #10?

Source says Orlando CEO Alex Martin has hit the road for GM interviews. Former New Orleans GM Jeff Bower is tomorrow, likely in New Orleans.

Is Orlando such a mess we can't even bring dudes in to interview there?

That's what I've been asking for the last 24 hours. I don't think you could trade for 2 1st rounders. But would the #1 for the #2 or #3 or #4 and the 2nd rounder and next year's 1st be a trade? If we somehow got the #1 pick I'd be interested in pulling a St. Louis Rams.

i definitely want anthony davis - he's as sure a bet as rose and griffin were in recent years

he may not be all that talented offensively just yet, but if you can imagine KG in '08 - i imagine davis' impact will be like that just with more athleticism

I don't watch a massive amount of college ball, but the one thing that seems to consistently transfer from college to the NBA is rebounding. 12rpg is no joke, especially in 31.8mpg. Whether that means Robinson would be worth a top-5 pick if we acquired one is another question, but I think he will have a solid (at least) NBA career, especially given that he seems to be a very mentally strong, tough, high character guy.

I'm not questioning his ability...

IMO when you draft him you're drafting more of a surething borderline-allstar 17/10 career guy as opposed to a project type of potential superstar

Nothing wrong with that at all... i'd make him as #3 guy in the draft and I would use the #3 pick on him

I liked the part in the Woj article where the potential Magic GM's are already preparing the Dwight trade scenarios. Without some grand luck tonight, it won't be NJ I think. And I'm hoping they don't bite on Bynum and his injuries/immaturity/max deal. I'd love Dwight to come out and say he's looking forward to playing with the Magic next year and once again prove these "sources" wrong but I don't think he cares about the franchise anymore for being so quiet since the injury (I bet he'll probably live and support the Orlando community always at least). This is why I think the Spurs/Thunder guys should be 1, 2, 3. If Dwight's gone, don't blow our cap space. Just let the GM draft smart for 1-2 years. See where we are then. Even if Dwight stays, we need those guys to draft well around him a la CLee.

Davis is the real deal imo. He'll instantly be a good defensive player, and he's putting on weight since the end of the tournament, which is great. His offense is underrated. He never got a chance to display it at UK because he was surrounded by great scorers (Teague, Jones, MKG, Lamb). But he's able to shoot a mid-range jumper with very good form, he can handle well and finish at the rim, and he has a baby hook. His offensive game is far more progressed than Dwight's when he came into the league. I hated Davis all season for what he did to the Gators but he controls the game in so many different ways. He can block shots and has great lateral defense.

What goes overlooked is his basketball IQ. He played point guard up until his senior year in high school. He was 6'2" (I think) before his senior year. He understands how the game is played. I didn't buy the during most of the NCAA season last year, but his play in the tournament had me sold. His ability to do more than just simply score (block shots, steal, pass, board) is what makes him valuable to a team.

I heard that New Orleans is a hotbed for Paddle.

That could explain things. A little vacation for Martins.

You can't pass up a chance to draft Anthony Davis. The guy is the next great big man.

First, I definitely agree. Troy Weaver or one the of assistant GM from Spurs would make great candidates for the GM spot. (Thank god Otis is gone). The Magic management would listen to one of these candidates so that they can help improve the team and move forward for a championship. Magic has been slackin in the draft for a while. in 2010 Magic drafted Stanley Robinson who doesn't even play for the team nor in the NBA, and Daniel Orton, who didn't play in the 2010-2011 season and some mins during the condensed season. Then Magic draft came in the Second round ,which I don't know why in the world we are in the second round, and got Justin Harper from Cavs and DeAndre Liggins, which both are decent. Hopefully this draft, Magic would be in the first round and have more picks because 2 ain't good enough. This would be the first test for the new GM of the Magic.

Second, All these rumors or news about Dwight are just rumors. People make up rumors to make someone like Dwight or the Magic franchise look bad even though both Dwight and Magic franchise are being the victims of the situation. Plus the media likes drama because if there is no drama, no audience would listen to them. The best they can do is ignore them or make up some lie about the issue. Hopefully next season wouldn't have any problems.

PS I am new here so I am not sure if this is acceptable or such. BTW nice avatar lol. :D

Thomas Robinson and Brad Beal were two of my favorite players in college last year. Robinson plays harder than anyone out and he may be the most "NBA-ready" player in the draft. Especially since he's developed a 3 point shot since the season ended. He's a power guy that can bang in the paint, crash the boards, and D up. I like his intensity and if he continues to improve his shooting, he'll be a decent NBA player.

Beal is intriguing as well. Easily the best 2 guard in the draft. Attacks the basket well, smooth stroke, and very high basketball IQ. He may not be a franchise player, and nor is Robinson, but his ceiling is Brandon Roy pre-knee injury, with a little more athleticism than Eric Gordon.

Andre Drummond is a mystery to me. He should have dominated more than he did in college. I didn't watch very many UCONN games, but if he was better than Davis, UCONN should have won more games. He's a project imo and if Portland gets 2 lottery picks, I could see them taking a chance on him.

And again, the only legit interview that has been scheduled and taking place is one with Bower. All other reports are simply "reached out to" or "has interest in."

This. I can't believe that a team with a dominant defensive big man devalues the next great defensive big man. Did you all want Okafor too?

Especially given Martin's self-professed business background (as opposed to a basketball one), you have to assume he will work with feedback acquired from those around him, as well as prevailing thought (e.g. RealGM). I know he knows Bower from their Hornets days, but I can't imagine Bower is truly a leading candidate for the position given his track record and the fact that it falls on Martin's shoulders if things go wrong.
