I'm almost positive a trade will occur on or around draft night.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXIV: Offseason Edition
Here me out guys,
I got a feeling it's Phil Jackson for an executive position if anything. I don't think it can be a roster move for Iggy or Monta, as we don't have a GM. But, I could very well see Alex and Devos pursuing the hell out of Phil as a coach. I don't think Phil, at his age and with his accomplishments wants to coach in ORL and go thru the stress and strain and travel of a grueling 82 game season. However, I think he could become what Pat Riley is to the Miami Heat. A laid back executive calling shots from his throne, which would be more than enough to keep Dwight in ORL and recruit all-stars in the future to ORL, much like Riley did. Jackson wouldn't want to sully his legacy by failing as a coach in ORL, but for him to sit back and acquire talent around Dwight would be easy for him.
In addition, Jackson would hire his protege, Brian Shaw, to coach the team. Shaw would offer a fresh, new voice for our team and Dwight and apply championship experience and as well have the support of the greatest coach in sports history.
If it's anything that's going to keep Dwight in ORL and being discussed now, I see it as Phil Jackson in our front office as President of Basketball Operations. And he'll hire Brian Shaw.

All I really have to say is we are far better off now than we were last year in this trade debacle. At least now we can get some value. Spmething that would not have happened last year. I'm glad Howard MADE THE MISTAKE HE MADE. Now trade him for something good.

After listening to the interview, it seems as if the "big" news is about a potential GM.
-BS"If something else doesn't come together, Jeff Bower could be the guy..."
I think he's referring to his "big" news with the bolded part?

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXIV: Offseason Edition
Alex Martins, the Orlando Magic chief operation officer, played a key role in winning the city's favor to build a $480 million new downtown arena as part of a three-venue deal that ranks as the Orlando's largest and most expensive public building project eclipsing $1 billion. He also played a part in landing Magic coach Stan Van Gundy after two-time NCAA championship Florida coach Billy Donovan backed out of a contract with the Orlando franchise in 2007. Martins, 43, received his bachelor's degree from Villanova, MBA from the University of Central Florida in 2000 and spent over 20 years in sports management. He became the youngest public relations director in the NBA at 24 when former Magic executive Pat Williams hired him to run the upstart Magic's media operations in 1989. Martins, a New Jersey native, previously worked for the Villanova and Georgetown media relations departments. Martins ran media operations during the Shaquille O'Neal, Penny Hardaway era from 1989- 1998. From there, he jumped to the Cleveland Browns as a marketing executive for one season, then returned to Orlando to receive his MBA with financial support from the Magic owners, the DeVos family. Martins then ran marketing operations for the New Orleans Hornets in 2001 and was ultimately re-hired by the Magic in 2005 and was named the COO in 2006.
Jeff Bower was Hornets GM 2002–03 and again in 05-06. Let's hope Alex is traveling to NO to let him down easily.
