This will not however silence the conspiracy theorists.

Looks like the selling price of a new team comes with a first pick

Does the NBA still own the Hornets?

Not bad. I don't know where we take it from here? Draft a PG and a C?

Annoying that Anthony Davis is going to NOH.

I can now start to ponder the ripple effect this might have for Deron Williams.

Outside of the Blazers moving up to #1, this was the best possible outcome, so no reason to be upset today.

Also, how do people think there's a conspiracy theory with these results? If the NBA still owned the Hornets, I could easily see it, but they don't own them anymore.

Having a 7 win season and just getting the #2 pick sucks, but it could have been a LOT worse. They could have dropped all the way to #4, and that's not unheard of in the slightest. Cho can see the numbers just as clearly as we can, only like 3 teams in the 15+ years of the lottery have won the #1 pick when coming in with the worst record. Having the worst record is the LAST thing you want on Draft Night.

Sucks, but I don't feel THAT bad for them.

Been callin' the Hornets to get the #1 forever now. None the less, good for them, though I would prefer Davis going east.

No idea why people would even suggest that the Hornets rig was picked. Stern does NOT own the team and he was able to keep the team in that city. If the pick was going to be rigged it would have been Brooklyn's. For them not to be top three illustrates to me that this year the pick was not rigged.

Pretty happy with the results. Seriously with the NBA really wanting to get an ownership in place offering the #1 pick would really help out.

LOL, fair enough.

But if we're being realistic here, the REAL reason the Saints owner bought the Hornets was because he needed a distraction from the NFL Bountygate that was demolishing his team. Word was the Saints owner was negotiating with the NBA for the Hornets, but was trying to get them cheaper than the NBA wanted. Once the Bounty scandal hit and it was in the national media on a daily basis, he stopped negotiating and paid the full price to get something else semi-Saints related in the news.

Agreed. Had Brooklyn moved up, and God forbid actually gotten the #1 pick, the conspiracy theorist would have been out in full force.

The 2012 NBA Draft: Lottery Tracker, Draft Pick Discussion

Aside from moving into the lotto with our own pick, this was the best possible outcome for us.
