Would you guys do a deal with the Wizards involving #3/#32 for #6/#11 to ensure you get the guy you want?

If you guys don't trade the picks, the best posible player available at each spot are Andre Drummond at 6, and Jeremy Lamb at 11.

Seems a bit steep for only 3 spots, but I guess I'd think about it if the Blazers felt REALLY strongly about a certain player in this draft. Don't know if that player exists tbh.
Something to think about I guess. Regardless, it seems the Blazers will have a decent shot at moving up in this draft if they want to.

It's very telling that everyone wants the 6 and 11 for a higher pick. Maybe because the talent available at 2-6 is about even.
I have been wrong before BUT if you think the consensus top five players now will be the same five players in four weeks then I think you're nuts. Even if they are, I truly beleive one of those 5 teams will fall in love and reach a bit. It happens almost every year.

I think Barnes will get picked in the top 5 picks for both Washington and
Cleveland need shooters.
I'm thinking we're looking really good for we're going to get solid prospect
amongst Robinson, MKG, Drummond if the teams needing shooters pick
Barnes and Beal. I just hope we name a GM for a number of teams will be
wanting to speak with Portland.

According to ESPN's mock. Which will change pretty radically as players work out and teams jockey for position. It's way too early to say who will be the best available where.
I'd probably be reasonably happy with a Drummond/Lamb draft. I'd much prefer a Drummond/Lillard, though.

Not a big fan at all of Drummond.. Not a lot of emotion nor output from him on the floor and his offensive game is absolutely horrid. I really don't think he has the heart to bang down low either.. I feel like mentally he's a little Thabeet'ish.. But I REALLY like Lillard..
The only guys that I really like at #6 are Beal, Robinson or MGk.. and maybe Barnes.. I know the first 3 (possibly 4) will probably be gone but if not I'd take whomever slips. If not I'd see if we could package the pick for a proven commodity. Aldridge is ready to compete now and this draft is probably going to be our best chance to put weapons around him.

Harrison Barnes will likely be our guy if we stay at 6, which I'm fine with. I wish it was Beal, but I just don't see him being there. Barnes is probably a 3 but would definitely be compatible with Batum and obviously Wes -- would give us great length and shooting on the perimeter, get a creating PG with those guys like Marshall and we're in business.
I think MKG is a lock to go #2, makes a ton of sense for the Bobs, after that though it gets wild. All of Beal, T-Rob, Drummond, Barnes makes sense for everyone in that range. For the Wizards, MKG is a filthy fit with Wall but I just don't see him getting past #2, after that Drummond makes a lot of sense but I'm not sure they want another raw, project big. I could see them going with Beal to bring some sanity and pace to that team, Robinson would also be nice. Cleveland is interesting because they just picked Tristan Thompson who is such an odd player. Is he a future Center? Can he play with Robinson? Drafting Drummond would give them absolutely no offense in the post but a ton of rim protection, Harrison Barnes makes a lot of sense for him as they desperately need wings, might be a reach though with what's on the board - Beal would also be a great addition too next to Kyrie, if they pass on him though odds are we'll be in luck because the Kings likely go big or look for a wing.
Regardless, we're adding a quality player.

This is a 1 player draft in terms of top end talent. I'm seeing loads of trades with Cha or Was trading down to me affirms that.

I'd have to agree with this sentiment but I think there a number of players like Drummond,
Barnes, Rivers, PJ3, who are either going to be great or a bust. It all depends on what a
team is willing to risk for there also plenty of guys who will solid but hardly star players.
Davis is the only probable all-star caliber player but one team in the late lottery to mid
first round is going to get a steal. PJ3 for example might be the next Cliff Robinson and
a steal for a mid first round team.

Re: The 2012 NBA Draft: 6th & 11th picks, and some random 2n
I think from what I hear that Drummond is more hype than anything. The good was he did average 2.7 blocks, but remember that Anthony Davis averaged 4.7, so he's not going to be nearly the shot changer Davis is. And the thing that people are selling about Drummond is his defense, yet how much will that average go down in the pros? He rebounding wasn't exactly jaw dropping as it was at 7.6 a game.
The thing that sticks out is his .295 foul shooting. He makes DeAndre Jordan look like Steve Nash at the line. I'm sorry, but I seriously want to pass on this guy.

Drummond lose 20 pounds and he's faster than everytime, he's going to mesure high in the workouts.

I think Harrison Barnes is going to be gone before No. 6, possibly as high as No. 2 to UNC grad Jordan's Bobcats. I can see some team paying a high price to secure him at the right slot. I also think that Portland would be foolish to use two lottery picks to accomplish this.
Andre Drummond is heavy and is disinterested in basketball. He's 2001 Kwame Brown all over again.
This is what I would do right now:
No. 6 overall: Damian Lillard, PG, Weber State. The best PG in the draft and it's really not close given his overall body of work when compared with Kendall Marshall. Lillard has elite scoring tools, and the Blazers are not a good offensive team right now.
No. 11 overall: Evan Fournier, SF, France. He and Batum strike me as similar players; the two of them together would be scary. Add in the fact that Fournier's agent is Bouna Ndiaye, Batum's agent, and it's a great match.
I don't see either of those as reaches because Lillard is the best player at his position (and definitely better at basketball right now than guys like Drummond or Perry Jones) and Fournier's upside is comparable to the upside of the better-known American prospects in the draft.

I think it's proof of the opposite. Fans looking to trade down are trying to get MORE draft picks. Which confirms to me that this is a very deep draft. I wouldn't confuse even talent for a lack of talent.

I think #6 is a great place to be sitting. All the Blazers have to do is sit back and take the best player that falls back to them. Barnes, Beal Drummond, whoever... It's the teams picking at 2 or 3 that have the real pressure to pick wisely.
#11 is a bit trickier. Obviously you still take the best player available, but I think the talent is even more balanced back in this area. You could address a need here because no one player really stands above the rest.

Exactly I would take whatever is left from MKG, T-Rob, Beal, Drummond, Barnes and then pick a Marshall, Lillard, Henson, Lamb or T-Jones
my perfect world

NBA.com has us selecting Damian Lillard at #6 ....that's a bit of a reach, surely there's a better player available at that pick?
Return to Portland Trail Blazers
