Yea, Hardy gets less pressure, but will probably main or co-main his next fight. Plus not going to lie, I see Sanchez beating him if that's the fight, and the third wouldn't be pretty.

I like Hardy as well though. Although sometimes I feel like the reason I like him is because most people hate him, which I feel is unjustified. Seems like a down to earth, loyal dude to me. Plus him calling Koscheck "a turd that won't flush" was priceless and apt.

Although I will say, I'd still rather see Diego at LW, as good as Diego/Hardy could be.

An absolute legend.

Cung Le vs. Patrick Cote, UFC 148

Not sure if it's been mentioned here...

Sorry Cung, but I gotta back my fellow Canuck.

I hope Cote's knee is better. I'd love to see him get a win here.
Hopefully Cung forgets where he put the jump rope again and comes in doughy.

I haven't seen his recent fights, but I didn't think he should have been cut, even if it was three losses in a row. He won five in a row prior to those loses, plus he's exciting. He's beaten a few decent vets since then, Machado and Todd Brown notably.

Silva, that I can understand... he beats everyone. Belcher landed a slam/piledriver that many refs would have deducted a point for and it changed the course of the fight. He did look terrible against Lawlor, granted and it was probably punishment for that. Could be related to his knee, he had no explosion in that fight.

Lawlor did nothing against Cote iirc. One of the most blatant lay and pray cases that I can remember if I am indeed recalling that fight correctly. I think it was Spike prelim or something.

Is he still fighting out of Tri-Star?
I read he was, but not sure.

Didn't want to start a thread for this until I saw a source more credible than "mmamania" (I think those are the guys who reported last week that Brock would face Nogueira soon), but some rumors are saying Cormier's last opponent would be Tim Sylvia.

Not many high quality opponents out there so all things being equal this is a solid matchup. Cormier should blow through him. But a good name to have on his resume

This is the only fight in SF that makes any sense. Because at least Sylvia brings some name value for Cormier to springboard off of.

I wonder who they bring in for Barnett?

This is a huge get for the UFC. Bibiano is one of the best fighters not currently under the Zuffa banner. Now go get Kawajiri and we are golden.

UFC cut a bunch of dudes.

http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/6/4/306 ... n-mma-news

Following recent losses in the past few months, the UFC has decided to release several fighters from their roster. Among those confirmed to have been cut by the promotion were Dongi Yang, Kamal Shalorus, Jorge Lopez, and Jeff Curran who all suffered defeats at last month's UFC on Fuel TV event.

Others also confirmed to have been let go are Aaron Rosa (lost 2 out of 3), Efrain Escudero (2 straight losses), and former WEC Champion, Steve Cantwell (5 straight losses).

While not yet announced, a few other fighters has had their profiles at UFC.com removed, which usually signals being cut from the promotion. Here are the following:
- Alex Soto
- Eric Wisely
- Mike Massenzio

They've been needing to trim some fat.

Kind of sucks for Yang though, I thought he won his last fight iirc.
