Don't take me saying Nene as part of their package as meaning that I want Nene. Just listing potential options since the Wizards are one of the many teams that would rent D12.

On the other hand, you have to pay to have a decent Center, they don't come cheap.

The nets draft was not a factor for Orlando… it kind of sucks for Brooklyn as that would have been their best chip to get a Dwight Howard conversation going.

the Magic will hire a GM, then hire a coach and then sit down with Dwight Howard and map out their vision for the future of the team… they will ask him if he is in or out… if he says out, they’ll trade where they can get the best deal and that will have nothing to do with what Dwight wants.

I can tell you Houston would rent Dwight and would pay for the privilege. Hearing Washington would too.
I think a lot of new suitors will surface if the Magic put Howard on the block, not just Brooklyn.

What would they be willing to give up though?

i love the plan. hopefully dwight is in but if not washington has a top 3 pick, seraphin, and nene to flip to a third team.

Ok, Nene was the reason I didn't list trade options for the Wiz earlier, sort of a deal killer for me. Dalembert for 7 mil is great IMO.

Toronto does have the space to absorb him. We might be able to use the 8th to grab Lillard.

Let's see How do I put this........HELL YES. If a team picking 8-10 offers that pick for Ryan freaking Anderson I hope to GOD they take that deal.

Are people forgetting that we can't s&t players until free agency? Did the CBA changes or something that I'm not aware yet? We should've traded him for a lotto pick before the deadline.

People can keep playing the Trade Dwight video game until the rumors become so abundant with the media stealing ideas from forums to use as sources to the point where Dwight will have to announce that he is not leaving and it is just rumors from unnamed sources and that he is staying.

I won't play or contribute to that game.

Lewis+Vesely+Seraphin+#3 for D12+Duhon+Q+Jrich? We could add Hedo and they add Nenê too.

This is very confusing to me. According to the CBA we can negotiate a completely new contract with Ryan now and it can be a sign and trade. Or we can negotiate a new contract now and not trade him. It's more than likely not going to happen unless the new GM comes in and says we need Ryan, let's give him 10 a year for 4 years right now.

I hope okc gets swept and realize they need a player like howard and offer up harden/ibaka/and perk or collison. That to me would be the best haul the magic could ask for.

Who finds it appealing to lose howard? These discussions are assuming Dwight doesn't want to stay in Orlando.

From Berger: Martins meeting Bower today and...
Martins is traveling to the interviews and is expected to meet with candidates involved in West finals during series. Spurs exec Dennis Lindsey and Thunder execs Troy Weaver and Rob Hennigan also are candidates.

Just like he won't want to stay with teams who will 'rent' him. They see value in rolling the dice where the media only sees risk for Orlando. It is a double standard.

I could completely understand him traveling to OKC to meet Lindsey and Weaver because their teams are still playing in the season. But there is no reason why Bower couldn't come to Orlando...

Media draws more attention with "Trade Dwight" headlines and almost none with "Dwight wants to stay" headlines. Even RealGM plays this game. This is how money is made. I liken this method to the National Enquirer or TMZ.

Why is it an attraction job? Someone is going to have to do something (trade) about Dwight and clean-up Otis's mess.

(1) probably trading dwight. = some people (many will realize the GM had to do) will hate the GM instantly
(2) high risk/reward in cleaning up the roster. Lots of bad contracts. Succeed and you look great. Fail and the team struggles for years, you get canned and never hired again.

^ because we have an owner who is willing to spend, and the GM gets to start from scratch with pretty much handpicking his staff and head coach. And its not like the people they are interviewing are moving laterally, they are upgrading jobs and salary. Most are asst. Gms
