Definitely not on the Hornets bandwagon anymore, switch the name to something fresh like the Flight

That would definitely connect with the youth that rep the retro hornets.. same people who like wiz khalifa and Curren$y

I used to hate the Hornets after they moved but that was really at Shinn and CP3. Now that neither one are there, I can't really hate them anymore. I can't hate Davis either, I saw him on the Dan Patrick show today and he was pretty disappointed about not going to Charlotte b/c he and his family really wanted him to play for MJ.

I heard that too. His family, especially his mom, wanted him to go to Charlotte. Not only that but his family are Bulls fans and would love for him to play for MJ.

Is that what you really want the face of the franchise to look like?

i bet that was his face when he learned where he is heading - to the Benson owned franchise whcih has fail written all over it. Then he calmed down for cameras.

I feel your pain bro.

Hey he could actually run away to join us, that would be unheard of :D RFA in 2016 sounds about right (best case scenario we would have unprotected Blazers pick to offer; they would take it, Stern would rig it for them then).

I think a brand reimaging would be a good thing still.

I wouldn't be surprised. The owner will probably be cheap and the GM there will probably mess things up by putting the wrong talent around him.

lots of chatter picking up about a rebrand coming, due to the 60% off of all bobcats stuff in the team store, no bobcats stuff on NBA site, no draft hat available.

if the rebrand was actually from bobcats to cougars (and could be done this summer) rather than bobcats to hornets (in a year or two), how would people feel about it?

Not the same.

Cougars us better than Bobcats but, "Hornets" is the name that moves the meter.

Honestly I think I would rather keep bobcats than cougars. If your going to cOmpletly rebrand then it has to be to hornets, nothing else.

I still want the Hornets name back. I hate New Orleans, not the Hornets name though. It almost feels as if N.O. robbed Charlotte of the name.
I'm a Charlotte Bobcats, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Braves and North Carolina Tar Heels fan!

I only want gay sloths or bobcats. Anything else would feel hollow.

Meh. I want us to go back to the orange.

The orange was freaking awesome. I rocked my Felton and Morrison jerseys in high school all the time. All. The. Time.

I actually like it. I think the Orange is what makes us look highschoolish. The way it was, it's just not a great color for looking like a professional franchise. At least in my eyes. I think this new color scheme looks much more professional and clean cut. I would be interested to see the Uniforms though before I could really make a decision. I actually didn't mind our home white uni's last year, I thought they looked sharp. I didn't particularly like the road blue's, so I'll wait and see how this may change that.

Either way. I hope this change doesn't mean the team would not pursue the Hornets name once New Orleans picks a new name. Granted, this may not be for another 5 years which may be why they went ahead and did this change just to see if it could gain some traction.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
