we tried that last year. in theory is sounds great. one thread for nothing by workout news and another for discussion. problem is that both threads started to turn into to each other, some would post discussion in the workout thread, some would post workout news in the discussion thread. it was a mess.

but i am always open for suggestions.

That's what I was thinking that would happen so I asked. On the other hand it would be great to have it all at one place without searching in a big thread. I guess we should post it here and maybe the crucial dates could be edited into the very first post, so anyone could find them there by one click (adds some work for you three though).

for those who didn't notice there is wiretap http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22 ... r_Two_Pick not really saying anything other than we will work out all possible candidates for 2nd pick which was already obvious. And we expected to receive calls inquiring about that 2nd pick - nothing new as well.

In no way does T-Rob resemble the basketball force that was known as Larry Johnson. I don't see it.

This and furthermore you guys need to take your teal-tinted glasses off b/c prime LJ was never going to make us a serious championship contender b/c he WAS A 6'5" FREAKING POWER FORWARD! MJ, or no Mj.

On the workout thread tip, have you ever tried giving each prospect their own thread? A Drummond thread, a Beal thread, etc?

That's your argument? Did you watch the game?

I watched the game, I clearly remember T-rob leading Kansas back to a comeback in the 4th

Kentucky were haxxed bro, it doesn't matter at the end of the day AD won, the Hornets beat us, T-Rob lost & we're probably gonna draft him. I called this right at the end of the day I thought that was going to be the birth of a rivalry between the two players

ive thought about that as well, but what happens is you have workouts that involve multiple players at the same time. news about workouts usually combined in one link for all players at workout. so you would be re-linking the same stories over several threads.

You've never played in the post obviously. It takes a tremendous amount of teaching to play well in the post. Only Shaq and Wilt could simply demand the ball and dunk on a guy.

You are only strengthening my point. If you are good. You are good. The coaches teach you to perfect your game. If you have phoenom talent, and can't even put up average numbers the problem goes beyond coaching. This kid is not Shaq or Wilt. He can not man handle his opponents. Yet he can not shoot, and has zero post game. Don't you think that this might be kind of a problem in the nba.

Trade the pick to Cleveland for it's 4th/24th pick and draft Thomas Robinson and Doron Lamb

Then sign Nicholas Batum

PG: Augustin/Walker
SG: Henderson/Williams/Lamb
SF: Batum/Maggette
PF: Robinson/Thomas
C: Biyombo/Mullens

Whatever the Bobcats do, I just hope they don't pick Beal or Gilchrist over Robinson or Drummond. Not worth the #2 pick when those two bigs are available. Beal is going to be like a Tayshaun Prince of shooting guards. He lacks explosion and the height to really take over a game and taking over a game really isn't his nature anyways. He tried doing it in Florida's final game in the tournament and he looked sloppy. Gilchrist while I'm high on isn't worth the #2. Jury is still out on him. There are reports that his work ethic is great but throughout high school he plateaued since his like sophomore year. He was a star in his freshman year and didn't really improve all that substantially much. His shot is butt ugly and I'm not all too convinced of his handles.

Yeah, I can see that. I think the poll is a nice start but I'm not sure I'd list their measurables yet until the combine.

What? That is absurd. So basketball talent is overwhelmingly genetically inherent and instinct? I never said he was Wilt or Shaq, b/c only WIlt and Shaq are Wilt and Shaq. I think everyone is overestimating the gap b/w Drummond's shot and post game and Robinson's. IMO, Drummond is one good offseason of coaching away from being at least as good skills-wise as Robinson.

Plus, no shot, no post-game, you can say that about practically every prospect in this draft.

You don't move down two places so you can draft a third string 2 guard.

Good idea but I prefer Robinson/Q.Miller. There is alot of good talent through the top 35-40 picks in this draft. Cho is going to find some players.

I really have no idea beyond Davis who will be great. I'm still not sure why everyone thinks Davis is going to be great. It would've been the easy pick, but I've also seen this story before where the "obvious" pick is nowhere close to what everyone thought he would be. Just look at Okafor or Kwame.

I look at it this way. Are the physical tools and abilities there? Is there a good way to compare pre-draft comparisons of guys in this draft to guys in previous drafts of similar positions?

For example, is Drummand more like Thabeet looked? Did he look more like Bynum? Did he look more like Howard?

What about a guy like Barnes? If he was in the 2011 draft and we had the #3 pick he would be a Bobcat. Now with the #3 pick someone else will get chosen it looks.

I think at the end of the day, we can be comforted knowing that while this is an extremely difficult decision, we have a competent guy finally in Rich Cho who can make a good choice for us.

If you guys want superstar potential I say we trade whatever outside of Hendo/Kemba/Biz/#2 for pick 11 and draft Perry Jones III

Kemba
Hendo
PJIII
Thomas Robinson
Bismack

that >>>>> Getting davis

I found some random mocks... lol look at where Wade is: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basket ... ock_draft/

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2004 ... id=1826621 ("Okafor the safe pick with Howard potential to be a star")

Lot's more where that came from of course. Just basically shows that nobody, especially us really know how good (or bad) someone is going to be.

I would rather whiff on superstar potential than hit the nail on the head on a quality role player.

What good is a role player for us without the stars?

i pulled those from the DX mock on yahoo, just to put some numbers out there for people who maybe dont follow college hoops closely. i'll definitely revise them once the combine figures are posted.
