If he had a good jump shot (3 point range) he'd be a BC type player. The versatility to play multiple positions, can run the floor, the length etc..

He apparently hit 7-15 from NBA 3pt range in his workout recently, its not that he doesnt have the range. He wasnt given the opportunity in Baylor to show it off much playing the 4. But he deff doesnt have Lamb range-stroke.

If Lamb's not around I'm almost certain this is who BC will draft.

I have liked this kid for awhile. He has the ability to play sf and play it well. We're in a solid position at 8 in my eyes

Lamb/Lillard/PJ3.
C. JV 7'0
PF. Bargs 7'0
SF. PJ3 6'11
Is being big a good thing or a bad thing?
If we draft him, let's hope for SF and not another PF. Like his potential, biggest in the draft.

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

Not a chance in Hades that the Raptors will draft PJ3. He doesn't have the mental fortitude to be a success in the NBA. On the other hand, Austin Rivers has it in spades. He's got some of the skills that the Raptors badly need. Funny how everybody but Swish Scout is sleeping on him.

Austin Rivers is a scorer, but doesnt even do that very efficiently. I agree with most scouts assesment that hes a good 6th man off the bench. People just fall in love with his highschool highlights and his game winner swagger. He probably goes 10-15 in the draft. PJ III on the other hand, has all the skills needed to be good just needs a good coach, coach drew was terrible for Baylor in letting PJ III show what he can do. He is a 3, I still dont understand why people call him a 4. Imagine having a 3,4,5 of PJ III, Bargnani, Valanciunas. Add that with Caseys mentality, thats a lot of contested shots, and a lot of missed ones too.

Too many excuses. The NBA is littered with the bodies of talented players who didn't have the mentality to succeed. Casey can't turn a timid player into a great one.

Many would say he did just that with Bargnani this year.
This roster needs talented players and at 8 with a chance to draft a guy that could end up the best player in this draft, there's no way he slips past us.

LOL. Two Bargnanis on the Raptors would just about destroy this forum and the Raptors. I rest my case.

did you have a problem with the way Bargnani played this year? I'd say a player of that level of talent is well worth considering at #8. PJ3 is significantly faster as well. I'm all for drafting Lamb if he's available, but outside of him and the top 7, there's no one with this level of talent available.

Remember a lot of the problems this franchise faced with Bargnani was due to the fact that they tried to make him bulk up and play a position he wasn't suited to play.
And the comparison with Bargnani is purely in terms of talent level, not skillset. Bargnani relies a lot more on his ability to shoot the ball, while PJ3 is much more comfortable playing inside.

Players I would take before Jones:
- Davis
- MKG
- Beal
- Drummond
- Sullinger
- Robinson
- Barnes

Unless a player surprises and moves up ahead of one of those players, I'm expecting the Raptors to take one of Lamb or PJ.
#Raptors are 7-1. In 6 of the past 10 seasons, a team that has started a season 7-1 has gone on to win an NBA championship.

If you guys watched Baylor games you'd know he wasn't used properly and in that system was made to look as a weak rebounder because of the zone D and constantly guarding guys on the perimeter.

IMO he has the highest ceiling of anyone in this draft, and I don't think the red flags others so quick to point out will materialize. He has a lot to work on, but I would be ecstatic if he were available at 8. My guess is though that when teams get to work him out against other prospects and put him through the drills they'll move him up on their draft boards.

Does anyone else out there think he looks a bit like McGrady? He also looks like he has serious shot blocking ability. The big question is: who will roll the dice? GSW? If he could guard 3's I'm pretty sure we would take him. Imagine Bargs 7'/JV 7'/PJIII 6'11 and he can shoot the long ball. To me that is a great pick if you are actually getting Nash.

Suits really well with Bargs, Bargs can play 4 on offence, and 3 on defence, while PJIII does the opposite

dude doesn't look like a sf but i'd chance it. i wouldn't draft a guy like lillard, sullinger or rivers. they may all be good players but none of them will be stars.

perry has a shot. despite his lack of assertiveness, he seems like a good kid. i'd rather waste a pick on a gamble than waste time with a guy you could sign as a free agent.
Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either

I agree, If certain players are of the board he's well worth the gamble.
