Re: First Round Playoff Thread
He plastered his ass to the bench because he was awful. Really no need to over think this.

I understand where it's coming from though, how Hammond stuffed up this trade pretty much cost us a place in the playoffs
We don't make it with or without the Bogut/Ellis trade, and long-term that doesn't matter anyway. The damage S-Jax caused was diluting our asset base three times (7 to 19 in the 2011 draft, Bogut to Ellis trade chip, whatever pick we would have had to 12 in the 2012 draft). Horrendous. Granted, Hammond didn't have to make either trade.

No, he absolutely didn't. If he'd done that you wouldn't have heard a peep out of me about it. He played him 35 a night when he was playing awful, then sat him, then played him 35 a night again when he was playing awful. How Jack played seemingly had no bearing whatsoever on whether he played or not.

Westbrook has been awesome in every facet except scoring. His iso play in the first quarter was brutal, but since then he's really focused on affecting the game in other areas.

Thabo is a beasting it out there. Brooks seems to be one game behind on all of the pretty obvious adjustments.

December he averaged 25 minutes though he was in foul trouble in one game and fouled out in another. So 2 of 3 games in foul trouble our fouling out kept his minutes down.
Next 5 games he averaged 35.6 minutes, all at least 35 except for the last game of that 5 game West Coast trip where he played 23 against Phoenix. We got blown out in that game so maybe it was for rest. I don't know or remember
Has two great games and plays 40+ minutes in both. Next game they're blown out in Dallas, Jax plays 29 minutes, shoots 3-8 for 7 points, 5 turnovers and 4 fouls. Game after that plays 39 minutes and shoots 3-12. Game after that 17 minutes, 0-6 shooting then I think he got suspended the next game against New York.
Comes back from that and averages 30 minutes the next 4 games shooting a combined 36.3% in those games with one more assist than turnover. Then he got suspended for verbal abuse of an official and DNP the next game after the suspension.
9 useless minutes against the Heat. Two more DNP-CD.
After that he played 8 straight games. Played 30 and 33 minutes the first two games back, 20 and 23 the next two, 17 and 20 the next two and then 12 and 8 the final two.
Really paul, he absolutely cut his minutes towards the end.

And if Fisher hadn't been in foul trouble the whole game, there's a good chance he still only gets 20-25 minutes.

Re: First Round Playoff Thread
Shouldn't you have changed this from a first round playoff thread to a second round and then a semi final Conference Championship Round?
One round thread for all of them?
Reminds me of former Brewers pitcher Bryan Clutter(f)buck

Re: First Round Playoff Thread
Apologies if this has been posted, but I thought this was an excellent take on the public's general apathy toward the Spurs (both past and present versions).
Slate article on the Spurs
tl;dr: It's not about their style of play - the Spurs are boring to America because America wants their excellence with a healthy dose of drama and dysfunction.

No, from LeBron James. The best player in basketball... by far.

Re: First Round Playoff Thread
Lebron James had 24 FTAs in Game 2. The Boston Celtics had 29 as a team. He is so good.
