If Davis were to pull an Eli Manning I would love him beyond belief, I would immediately demand that Jordan sign the man on a 13 year contract- even though thats impossible.

Re: 1st round pick discussion #2 overall (Poll Added)
Draft Express interviewed Wes Matthews about Blazers needs. I like what he said:
"We need winners. People who are tough. People who don't like losing. Players who, if they lose a shooting drill, they lose their minds. Guys that play with a lot of heart and are unselfish. Guys that will sacrifice personal stuff for the team."
If we can't have the superstar we wanted then we need a guy who fits what Matthews describes. For us that's either TRob or MKG.

I'll reserve judgement until the combine measurements. In years past, there have been players who have mysteriously shrank. If he is wearing normal shoes and that is true, he should be 6'8.5-6'9 barefoot and I just dont see that looking at him.
If accurate however, I'd say it should serve to solidify him as our #2 pick assuming we keep the selection.

I think its the opposite. He looks like a freak superstar playing against 6 footers in high school. Wouldn't surprise me if he shined until we paired him vs another big man
if he had even shown GLIMPSES of this kind of play in college we'd probably be torn between him and Davis right now

WOW!!
Is Drummond a massive tease...or a young man who needs coaching and direction to achieve his potential? THAT is the obvious question.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: 1st round pick discussion #2 overall (Poll Added)
I think we should devote specific days of the week for talking about each prospect... That way we wont have such pointless banter back and forth about why this prospect is better then the other... And actually get more educated on that prospect.....
I feel as if Bradley Beal is not being discussed very widely....
I understand we have a capable player at the 2 guard spot with Gerald Henderson, who some may argue is our best player. Where does he rank among current Shooting Guards in the League.....
Is he top 15... top 20...
Where would Beal rank in these rankings in a year or two...
Would he be top 10... top 5...
I dont think we can take him unless we truely believe he is guaranteed top 10 at his position in a year or 2.... and top 5 in his prime..
Also, consider he has guys like Dion Waiters, Jeremy Lamb, and Austin Rivers coming in that could have that type of potential...
The obvious bright spots to Beal is his shooting ability, his ability to play both guard spots, great rebounder for his size, and has no real holes in his game....
The only thing is he probably measures somewhere between 6'3'' and 6'5'' so he does not have great size...
I think Eric Gordon is the perfect comparison.....
Question is do we gain enough by replacing Henderson, when we could add a guy to compliment him instead...

Kemba, with all his hearts and motors, still couldn't pick this team up. I'm thinking heart and all that is more of a perception than it is an actual thing the player has.
Kemba's heat was in a 6'1 frame that had no training camp in a condensed season, with a coach that is one of the nba's worst at play calling.
He won't be BPA for us. Pairing a 6'7 T-Rob with Biz is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Where do you get that he is that short. I have never read anywhere that he was listed at 6'7. Every single scouting report that I have read said that T-Rob has prototype nba powerforward size. He is always listed somewhere between 6'8 and 6'10. I think he gets the Kemba Walker treatment. He is so big that he looks shorter than what he his. I guaruntee you that next week he will measure at least 6'9 in shoes.
Jaruff wrote:Nah, if he really wanted to be a Bobcat, he'd pull a Kobe.
That would be nice, but I think that this kid is to classy to pull something like that. Kobe is a pretty selfish individual.
Kemba2Hendo wrote:
T-Rob isn't projected Top 5 at his position, Beal is, Beal should be the pick here if Cho is as smart as a lot of us give him credit for the other alternative is trading down for Drummond if you insist on a post player.
Most mocks have T Rob going 5th for a reason, he is barely a Top 5 talent.
What mocks have you been reading? I have never seen one that had him less than four. Draftexpress has him going number two to us.

Entirely onboard with T-rob at 2 and doing whatever we can (moving DJA) to grab another pick around the 10, 11 spot. I would be pretty damn pleased. Not as pleased as Davis and a 10, 11, but hey if T-Rob is a legit 6'10" in shoes with a 7'1" wingspan, I have no reservations about making him my unequivocal new man crush (How could I have loved unibrow? how?)
Davis' mom wanted Charlotte. His dad though, per Andy Katz, was 'overjoyed' that it's NOLA. Besides, the mom just wanted to be able to smile in Jordan's face since they're from Chicago.

Sorry, OT but kinda hilarious - DX has Drummond falling to the Kings at 5. Derrick Coleman - sorry Demarcus Cousins - and Drummond? That's a laugh riot waiting to happen.

My ideal scenario at this point would be to trade with the Cavs. Number 2 for 4 and 24. Maybe Cho could squeeze a little more. If we did that we would still most likely be able to pick up T-Rob and get a decent wing with the 24th.

Re: 1st round pick discussion #2 overall (Poll Added)
Agents are becoming more concerned with fit and less focused on draft slot. The importance for their clients to be drafted as high as possible is due to the rookie scale contract that is set on draft order.
NBA general managers perceive the Cavaliers, Wizards, Blazers and Warriors as preferable landing spots at the top of the draft, while the Bobcats and Kings are decided less so.
Chad Ford speculates that Charlotte and Sacramento could have difficulty in convincing players to workout for them at their own facility.

Chad Ford is such a tool - in typical form, this sounds like complete rabble-rousing conjecture.

Chad Ford is a moran like most ESPN lackies. only player that I could see pull a brandon roy is Brad beal. the rest of the players, T-Rob, MKG or Harrison Barnes IMO would love to come here. ESPN is as "fair and balanced" as fox news, I really wish another major sports network would rise and challenge E!SPNcountryboi wrote:Agents are becoming more concerned with fit and less focused on draft slot. Actual quote:
NBA agents are becoming less concerned with how high their clients are drafted and much more concerned about fit and franchise stability. Two teams in particular may have a tough time bringing in top talent before the draft. GMs see Cleveland, Washington, Portland and Golden State as preferable destinations at the top of the draft. They are scared to death of Charlotte and Sacramento right now.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Bobcats and Kings struggle to get every player they want to work out into their gyms.

My question to all of you that don't want T-Rob is this, he will IMO atleast become a 20/10 player, who do you guys think will be more efficient at there respective position, then becoming a 20/10 PF?

wouldnt mind doing that trade down to 6, 11 the more I look at it. Hell, Drummond could fall to there and pick up Terrence Ross. would be pretty happy
