I can't imagine any of Beal/initials/Robinson/UNC players not wanting to potentially get the #2 pick rookie contract scale, so I kinda took it to mean guys we'd be looking at with our later pick.

If I was an agent I'd be pushing any young talent I had to Charlotte. Best chance to get massive playing time, best chance to put up stats, all you have to do is be mediocre and you'll probably get Tyrus Thomas level money! or Felton or even Kwame money. even DJ will probably get overpaid this offseason by someone

While possible, I think it is far from a forgone conclusion that Robinson is a definite career 20/10 guy.
If he works hard, he might be able to have a career like David West did from year 3 onward.
Thats pretty good. And if we stay put and he measures closer to 6'9 than 6'8, I'm ok from taking Robinson if we decide to stay put at #2.
Otherwise, I look to trade down to 6 and 11 and start accumulating assets regardless of position and hope someone like Royce White falls to our #31 pick.

Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reported "General manager Bob Myers spent a long time with Charlotte Bobcats general manager Rich Cho in the lottery green room, sparking speculation that the Warriors might try to bundle their picks for the right to draft Kidd-Gilchrist at No. 2."

Someone is sure to drop to us at 31. There has been a lot of talk about guys who have been shooting up the ranks. Moe Harkess has been speculated as high eight recently.

My intial thought was to seek a trade down if we ended up with the 4th pick, and maybe if we got #3. At #2, we have the choice of a prime player or to engineer a significant deal. Still, I'm convinced that we cannot go lower than #4 and still get an impact player. Adding OK or sorta good players to this team will only extend mediocre results. I'd strongly consider #2 for Cleveland's 4 and 24, but that's about it.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Chad Ford speculates that Charlotte and Sacramento could have difficulty in convincing players to workout for them at their own facility.

Well, I do want T-Rob, just not over Drummond. Agree with dmutombo that 20/10 is a lofty goal since he's never played an NBA game. I think 15/10 is a more realistic career average.
My thing is, I don't think potential FAs and draft picks are gonna clamor to play with a T-Rob, Beal, or MKG but Drummond? Yeah, that's the kind of amazing talent that if untapped could make playing for the Bobbies actually attractive.

^Don't know how many of you guys got a chance to see the discussion I posted on the trade board yesterday. One Golden State poster offered Klay, 7, and 30 for the #2. I would do that one.
The offer I liked the best though was 4, 24, and 34 for the #2.

Re: 1st round pick discussion #2 overall (Poll Added)
What would you rather have?
#2
#4 and #24
#6 and #11
I'm kinda leaning toward 6 and 11...I like T-Rob IF he measures out at at least 6-9 but I also really like Beal. But then watching that Drummond video has me thinking about his crazy potential. Regardless, looking at some of the guys that should be available in the 6-12 range, I think grabbing two of them could be better for us then just taking one of the consensus top 5.
Harrison Barnes (I still like him more than MKG, his measurables and all-around game are better IMO. I find it very interesting that the top 5 are almost all one-and-doners, with the one exception being T-Rob who just really broke out this year. The rest of the top 10 are at least sophomores, makes you wonder what we'd think of the consensus top 5 if they stayed in school for another year and let the freshman shine wear off.)
Jeremy Lamb (While I think Beal is the best SG in this class, I'm not certain of it. Lamb could very easily take that crown, and either way Lamb + another lotto pick > Beal.)
Damian Lillard/Kendall Marshall (Gonna need another point guard with DJ gone, Lillard is my personal preference but Marshall is certainly not a bad consolation prize.)
Jared Sullinger (Another guy that likely lost some ground for going back to school, everyone complains about him being Sean May but I don't really see it...the guy noticeable slimmed down this year.)
Others include Terrence Ross, Austin Rivers, John Henson, Perry Jones, Terrence Jones, etc. And there's also the possibility of a Tristan Thompson-like pick in the top 5 which forces one of Beal/Drummond/Gilchrist/Robinson down to us.
NBA2KSCENARIO: Trade down for 4 and 24, trade 4 for 6 and 11.
#2
#4 and #24
#6 and #11

6 and 11, but talking to Portland Fans they want more than just the #2 for those picks. There is no one at 11 I like good enough to give up 2 and Hendo or DJ. Well maybe DJ.

I don't think there's any chance we keep DJ...so I'd be totally fine with throwing him in. Just give us a 2nd rounder next year (since we traded ours for Mully) or an expiring or something and call it even.

Double Sign and Trade?
#2 and DJ (plus filler to make salaries match) for #6 OR #11 and Batum?
