Well he has the rep of not wanting to win and Miami basically let him go for almost nothing and it appears Minnesota will do the same, so that is kind of a red flag.

I think he can put up numbers, but he has the rep of being a headcase. And we are committed to Frye and Morris for a number of years, so do we trade one of them? Do we try to play Beasley at the 3?

And how much would it cost? I just don't think the front office will go after a player like Beasley.

Depends what we are getting in the draft, if we aren't getting a SF, Beasley would be a top priority in the free agency market for the Suns. He's still really young, and hasn't reached his potential which is scary since in 2010-11 he averaged almost 20 PPG as a 20-21 year old. The question is does he really want it? Is he focused enough to want to be the best player he can be.
I really think next year he's going to drop bombs, become an all-star and average 23-25 PPG, if the Suns decide to stand pat, retain Nash, Beasley is our best option at being that go-to scorer in the fourth. Really, I'd want him regardless if the Suns decide to separate from Nash, this kid still has potential for great things. I'd take him for 9mil a year, he's that good, and he might be considered underpaid in a couple years, depending if he's focused enough.

The reason he was moved out of Miami was because they wanted to make room for cap to sign the big 3.

Minnesota must see something in him or they would have moved him at the deadline to the Lakers (as rumored). The only reason he might not be re-signed is because they already have Derrick Williams who has a similar game and is on a rookie scale contract.

If and when G Hill bolts to ring chase, Hell Yes to Beasly... for the right price. I dont want to overpay him, but he is the definition of a dangerous 20 point a game scorer. He is a go to scorer, and has the attitude to do what he does best, SCORE! Scorers in this league take bad shots sometimes because they are hardwired to be scorers. Durant sometimes jacks up 30 footers, Kobe takes crazy shots sometimes, Lebrons shot selection isnt the best all the time, but what all of these people have in common is when it is falling you cant stop them.

Also, Im tired of all of this, a player has to be the cleanest cut, highest moral, best attitude guy to play for the Suns, thanks, Frye, Gortat, Chilly, great guys, too nice to be killers in this league. We have had guys who our fanbase thought thier attitude was too abrasive to be on the team ( X-Man, Barkley), but when they got here, they were embraced like everyone else. Beasly can start at Sf., and slide to Pf. when we go small. The man can score the damn ball, and I would give him the chance if the price is right.

I definitely think he wants to be an all star and avg 23-25 ppg. I'm just not sure if he cares about his team winning. He's the type of player that would try to get to those heights at the detriment of the team.

You're assuming the Lakers wanted him. It was rumored, but they were probably offering Fisher or something, who they ended up dumping on Houston, who cut him. Beasley had zero trade value. I think Minnesota got him for a 2nd round pick. And now Minnesota may just let him walk because they couldn't trade him for anything worthwhile.

The whole "he dosent want to win" crap is just that, crap. The man is a basketball player, and a very good one. He has a lot of growing up to do, and that can still happen. Scary thing is when he does grow up, he actually has the skill to turn the league on its head. When the Timberwolves used him correctly, he was a 20 a game scorer, now Love, Rubio, and Williams is the focus, he needs a new platforme, the Suns should give him one. Gentry is good at dealing with people. The franchise is good at turning boys into men and having a culture of being very professional. We have good core mentor guys like Duds, Frye, and Nash is we can get mim to stay. He would be just friggin fine here.

He has this reputation of being a good scorer, but he's actually inefficient, and I'm not comparing him to the elite SFs. I'm comparing him to the average SF.

He put up a PER of 13. League average is 15.

His adjusted +/- numbers this year were at a -2.73, ahead of only Ridnour, Barea, Wayne Elington, and Wesley Johnson.

By every major advanced metric(PER, Wins Produced, Points Over Par, Adjusted +/-), Beasley is either below average or bad. I'm not saying he'll be bad forever, but lets not ignore reality. He has not been a productive NBA player.

Would I take a flyer on him? Sure, if it didn't cost us anything.

Try looking at 2010-2011, where he actually averaged 32 mpg and a PER over 18. And he didnt have derrick williams hiking up his jock.
