What do you want him to say, "Yeah, we plan on being right back here next season so this really isn't a big deal."

No GM is ever going to say that, so don't take his words for a plan.

Nah I'm just tryna read his demeanor. He seems to have a plan that he is committed to and doesn't seemed phased at all by this hellacious offseason. I wonder what he's gonna say when DWill leaves or we're forced to overpay for Gerald Wallace.

This guy can't be this naive :o

That video constantly makes me ask, "Why is he so confident? What does he know that we don't know?"

He talks about resigning Gerald Wallace and Deron Williams as if they are already done deals. He talks about improving the team through "many other scenarios".

What does he have up his sleeve?

At this point? I'm going to say a big fat NOTHING.

When he traded for Troy Murphy, a few of us asked "Why? This makes no sense! Why would he make this deal?"

Then, the season-long pursuit of Melo. Again, we asked "Why? Why go through all of this?"

Then, the sudden trade for Deron. Risky, but the rumors of going after Dwight certainly made us believe "OK, maybe he knows what he's doing here".

Then, the pursuit of Nene. We once again ask "Why? Why are we rumored to be offering Nene the max? Nene and Dwight share the same agent. What does King know that we don't?"

Then, the Nene signing/non-signing. So we did nothing but sign one-year deal for guys. At this point, we're thinking.."OK, something's up. He's got to know something. This is an incredibly big risk to not sign anyone long-term when you are trying to build a winner".

Next, we get the Dwightmare. Is he in? Is he out? In? Out? We all thought there has to be a "wink-wink" deal with Deron and Dwight and King. This is the only possible scenario why we are wasting away a season like this. And then he opted-in.

Then comes the biggest panic move I've ever seen...the Gerald Wallace trade. We all wondered "why are we trading a top 3 protected pick for a 30 yr old SF (a.k.a. the easiest position to fill in the NBA)? Surely, he has assurance from Deron that he's coming back right? Otherwise, this doesn't make any sense whatsoever".

So now, here we are. No first from Houston. No firsts of our own. Our top 3 players are ALL free-agents (with Lopez being a RFA). And King is once again talking about being a playoff team.

Either he really does know something, or he's a complete and utter fool. We'll know soon enough.

Do the Nets have to waive any CAP holds?

Humphries in order to actually have cap space. If they don't, no cap space.

DWill, Gerald Wallace and a healthy Brook Lopez might be enough to make the playoffs in the eastern conference...but that can't be the master plan can it?

no idea but I've seen worse cores that gms have had faith in. Plenty of gms like to think they're smarter than everyone else and talk themselves into believing in chemistry or compliment or winning attitude, or whatever else, above raw talent. And end up with a roster even a casual fan can tell is going nowhere

and the "success" of indiana and philly this year is only going to embolden them. The smarter gms are probably going to have a field day unloading bad contracts and aging vets on the more delusional gms

Nice job on that, by the way. I think you did better on that then the Nets people did on the photoshopping fans into the Barclays photos.

Nah, he actually meant Deon Williams. He's a new, up and comer with smooth handles, quick first step, and a prime-time personality.
