Question: If Washington offered John Wall for the #2 pick straight up would you do it?

If Derrick had stayed in college you guys would be all over him at #2 this year.
He didn't get consistent playing time behind Kevin and didn't really know where he stood with the team as he was probably our 6th scorer. He does need to work on his shooting form and post game but he has great handles for a guy he size. If you need proof, watch his 27 pt game where he destroyed Kenyon Martin.

We need both positions.

That trade wouldn't work straight up due to cap issues but:

Derrick Williams, #18, Ellington (just because) for #2 and Matt Carroll (expiring) would work.

I'd say Wesley Johnson instead of Ellington but I'm just not a fan of his at all. Ellington would give us some depth and wouldn't be expected to do much.

I just happen to really like Derrick Williams so I'd really consider that trade. If they wanted to get it done "no questions asked":

Williams, #18, Randolph for #2, Tyrus Thomas

I would happily include Wes as he Is absolute sh*t

If we can have Wayne Ellington+2nd or a lotto-protected pick in the deal, then yes. I'm high on D-Will, I think he's a future All-Star if he can figure out which position he is.

I'm not sold on Wall. He's solid, but I don't see him becoming Derrick Rose or anything close to that. Also his jumpshot and turnover issues bother me.

Here's a trade centered around that though:

Wall + Blatche + Seraphin + 3rd for 2nd + 2013 Portland pick + Kemba + Reggie + Maggette exp.

Don't know what Washington says to that though.

You can have Wayne, have our 2nd, it's pick 58 so have fun. No way we include another first rounder.

I agree. I think he's better than T-Rob and that's the guy many here are salivating over.

Well, it can always be a token top-25 protected first-rounder that turns into a second rounder in a few years.

I in no way shape or form could sell Wes to anyone because of how much I hate him. I'll give him one thing in that he is super athletic.

Why the hell would Washington do that? They are building their team around wall and have made some major changes to get rid of the knuckleheads and are about to make some more (getting rid of blatche and Jamison). They sit at 3 and take whoever you guys dont take between beal and mkg.
Wall and beal is a great back court of the future for that team.

I don't think Washington would do it but its an intriguing trade, they'd have the #2 and #3 pick and wouldn't worry about having to pay Wall an inflated contract next year.

Wall I think would flourish here and we'd be bad enough to get the top pick next year and then take off.

We need to leave the draft with T-Rob and PJ3.

Yeah with Diaw gone, and Najera and White possibly leaving too, we really need to re-stock our power forwards.

I hope the rumor is true of Cleveland trading their 4th and 24th for our 2nd. To me, talents on mock drafts from number 2-6 are very similar. These guys are talented and a capable of having multiple all-star years but these guys are not superstars. For the Bobcats sake, we need help at all positions so basically we have no preference as long as they are talented and are hard workers.

^ I agree, in addition to the consensus 2-5 guys I think Lamb and Barnes also belong in the discussion (possibly Sully too, pending combine measurements), which is why I also like the idea of the 6 and 11 trade. The idea of leaving with some combo of Lamb, Barnes, Sully, PJ3, Lillard, Marshall, Zeller, Rivers, Miller, etc. is more appealing to me then any one of the 2-5 guys or the 4 and 24. Plus there's also the chance that one of the top 5 drop to 6.

I would love the trade of 6 and 11 with Portland but that probably won't happen. Portland must really love someone in the top 5 to trade two lottery picks for.
