Um, you're going to need to watch a replay before arguing any further.

The foul had nothing to do with them falling over, that just highlighted that KG had hold of Lebron's arm as he CLEARLY did for several seconds to prevent Lebron going to help which is a foul every single second of every single game of basketball ever played. No exceptions, no further explanations needed, no matter when in the game or who it is it's a foul. If it's not called it's a horrible missed call.

At the other end Lebron didn't grab onto Pietrus at all, quite the opposite in fact, before Pietrus flopped bringing them both down.

If you think they were the same because they ended up the same way I'm going to suggest an optometrist.

One is clearly a foul, one clearly is not, and I'm no Lebron fan boy.

So that was the first time Lebron has fouled out as a member of the Heat. He must be a really smart defender.

KG had a hold of Lebron's arm? is that the best explanation?

ESPN zoomed in and froze it, it was MUTUAL "holding" of the arms. KG's legs got tangled up and Lebron helped by pulling him down. Hell, Lebron was STARING at the ref halfway through that foul. He sold it and he sold it well. It doesn't help that KG acted like his usual "tough" self during/after the foul.

I see no difference in the fouls. It's the same thing. It's not big enough of a difference to warrant different calls. In both events, I don't think either were clearly fouls on the offensive player. They just had to call it consistently.

Haven't got through all the pages (we need a new thread) how many people ragged on Lebron for not taking on the triple team?

One. It's the lulz with LeBron. He's in a no win situation. He takes the shot in that triple team and misses and he's questioned why he didn't find an open teammate. He passes to an open teammate and he's criticized for not taking the shot in the triple team.

Yup, it's ridiculous.

That wasn't a very good pass though.

LeBron is the best player in the NBA, people are always going to blindly hate & love him. Might as well get used to it.

No, it absolutely was not. KG grabbed Lebron's arm and held onto it to prevent him getting over to help on Rondo's wide open layup, when Lebron tried to pull away it pulled the both down.
Pietrus got behind Lebron as they were both moving backwards, put an arm around him and flopped bringing them both down.

The incidents may have looked similar but one was a clear offensive foul while the other was a clear flop. If you are going to applaud the referees for calling to things the same way because they kinda look the same despite being technically completely different we are going to get some godawful calls applauded.

Well at least jeremy's bias is really showing through now after his ref comments from the other game.

One play KG grabbed LeBron's arm so that he couldn't play help D to create a wide open layup for his teammate. The other play Pietrus wrapped his arm around LeBron and then flopped, dragging LeBron to the ground.

Those plays were different as in one was blatantly a foul and one wasn't really a foul at all... the ref just felt like he had to blow the whistle because two guys went down.

Great game.

Pathetic officiating against both teams.

Rondo is amazing.

Sure would like to see the Celtics pull this out.

Always a good day when the Heat and LeBron lose. :D

lol, I am not biased at ALL. I don't even hate Lebron or the Heat or anything like that. Lebron flopped just as much as Pietrus did. Hell, he's looking at the ref while he's falling down.

If I'm biased against the Heat, you're biased in favor of the Heat.

For those interested in the Rondo & Doris Burke thing after the game, according to Twitter he said "You trying to get me fined?!" to her after they shut the mic off.

I don't see why Rondo would get fined for what he said. He wasn't calling out the referees, he was calling out the Heat for crying and complaining to the referees.

I'm just saying the call on KG was blatantly a foul.

The foul against LeBron on Pietrus was not a foul on him at all.

If you don't see it that way, you are bias. LeBron fan or no LeBron fan (guys like paul don't like LeBron at all) can even see it.

I thought the call on LeBron was bad but it had to be made because the same call was made against Garnett (which I also thought was bad).

I didn't have a problem with the Pierce call. I guess you could say it was incidental, off-the-ball contact but he did run Battier over. I'm not sure the ref can just ignore that even if it was away from the ball.
