Welcome to the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals!
Amazingly, the Kings have never yet won a championship. The Great One, Wayne Gretzky, could not do it, but got close losing a heart breaking series to Montreal after a seldom called stick penalty on Marty McSorely proved the turning point in a series that started off looking like LA's time had come.
The new generation of Kings is fueled by amazing goalie Jonathan Quick, who has played as well as any Martin Brodeur or Patrick Roy in any playoff run ever. The Kings are deep and they are physical, they have size and a nice balance of experienced youth. Last years playoffs were marred by injuries, but this years team keeps rolling over people like a monster truck of madness
Keys to the Season so far
1-Addition by subtraction
Trading Jack Johnson for Jeff Carter not only infused the lineup with a legit 40+ goal scorer with some nasty, but also allowed Slava Voynov to join the active roster and show off his balanced slick skill set, while at the same time relieving us of JJ's horrible plus minus deficit.
2-Murray replaced by Coach Sutter
The man has no chin what so ever, but he has gritty calm way of getting players to perform and take on his shoulders of stone attitude. They kings seemingly needed an offensive genius when they fired Murray, but instead they chose a grinder. I hated this move, but Dean Lombardi made a great call as it turns out.

are you my daddy?

3-The Trade that didn't happen
When it looked like the Kings were destined to miss the playoffs this year, the organization started shopping captain Dustin Brown, who has been about the best two way player in the playoffs so far. If someone had dangled enough to get him, we would likely not be here. The team feeds off his hits and he plays some of the smartest hockey on the team

Go Kings Go! Tinsel Town needs titles and with the Lakers down, only you can throw a championship in the volcano and save Southern California from the Tiki Gods.
