All of RealGM rooting for Rondo and Boston
A note on the temperature in hell...
...it's plunged below 32 degrees fahrenheit. The most active boards on RealGM are uniformly rooting for the Celtics.
The Chicago, New York, and Orlando boards -historically the hugest haters of the green- are all enthusiastically cheering on Boston. Toronto too.
Beyond that, Rondo detractors on those boards have suddenly been transformed into huge Rajon boosters. It's like they're under an enchanted spell or something. One guy who wrote a few year ago that Duhon could do as well as Rondo on the Celtics has done a complete 180.
It's surreal and very funny. Thank you Bulls, Knicks, Magic, and Raptor supporters!
On another note, that bounce pass to Pierce by Rondo last night was one of the most exquisite plays I have ever seen. I got teary watching that on the replays.

One of the top passes I've ever seen. He had so little room, that it wasn't even funny.
As for other boards. It's awesome, but it's certainly understandable considering what an underdog we are/were. Everyone loves an underdog...OR....everyone hates the Heat

Yea, they freakin' hate the Heats with a passion. Plus Rondo has this "anti-buddy-buddy/I hate you" attitude that most people like (It's almost reminiscent of Kobe's).

I also have a friend in Portland, Oregon who said he was watching game 3 in a bar out there and the entire bar was rooting for Boston. It's kind of funny because the Celtics were public enemy #1 fairly recently and they have Garnett, etc.. I think it's more about the entire country being unified in their hatred of the Heat than all of these fanbases suddenly enjoying our brand of basketball, though.

If we were playing anyone else, they'd still hate us.

Let me ask you guys a question.. I've been of the belief that Rondo has been doing work and should have gained notoriety on a national level since the 08-9 season. Why all of sudden people now just because he's playing against Miami want to give him credit?

The thing with Rondo is that he plays the regular season at a much more relaxed level and it leaves an impression on people. He mixes in some stellar games in the season when he is matched up against a top team or PG on national TV and he steps up in the playoffs. But then he goes back to be chill Rondo and people forget. I think finally people are starting to be able to string together a solid chunk of games where he's been playing at his best.
So I think it's just as much Rondo developing and being more consistent as it is fans "coming around" and giving Rondo more credit.

IMO because the Big 3 is now the Old 3.
I agree with your general idea that Rondo has already had some very impressive playoff games/series' in the past.
What makes this current series impressive is that Rondo is doing something that his "haters" said he would never do well, score. This is what really makes me drool, Rondo is taking his highest amount of shots per game in his playoff career and hitting them at his best ever playoff %. Couple this with his elite playmaking, passing, rebounding, pretty good defense, and he is a force.
It also makes me smile that Coach Spo said he has no clue on how to stop Rondo, the same coach who was able to shut down last years MVP in the playoffs.

He scored more in 08-09's playoff run. It's a case of outta sight outta of mind. People tend to not remember things well generally. They forget how good he's been these last 4 years.

Nope.
This is his best year scoring in the playoffs, while this series is the best he has ever had.

Hes actually pretty much on point though. I will be interested to see if the praise sticks as it already should have. The Game 2 outburst makes this his best series, but he has had some pretty epic series performances in the past. Somehow, the praise has never been able to stay with Rondo. He average 21, 12 and 6 in that epic Cleveland series (2010). He averaged 19, 11, and 9 in the epic Bulls series (2009)
Playoff Rondo has always been a far different player. He is at his finest on the big stage, always has been.

Nothing I said was incorrect.
This is his best scoring year in the playoffs and this series is the best overall so far.

Regular bounce pass to a guy cutting to the hole. Yeah, let's keep overrating Rondo.

True, no disrespect meant
I was just pointing out that the majority of what the other poster was trying to get across was correct. This may be his best series, but he has had other series that are very, very close to this series. The 44 points and knocking down jumper after jumper in game 2 is new. Not much else is

You can't be serious. That's the type of bounce pass that makes you go "what the hell?!" Honestly, when it happened in real time, I couldn't understand how that happened nor how did Rondo even notice the space for the pass to go through. I sure didn't, and I'm sitting here in my chair watching it all from afar, whole court in front of me.
There was nothing regular about it.
