@cb1115

If we get Phil here & Shaw as HC, I doubt seriously D12 still demands out

Patrick Chewing didnt seem to mesh well with Dwight. Not sure how he would take to Pippen. Has Pippen been working with players? Great players can be tough to play for and work with.

This.

Unless the source is Dwight Howard himself, I'm not going to panic over articles that have him leaving Orlando no matter the circumstance.

Phil Jackson as a President of Basketball Operations would be a great start. It would be an ideal start. Then get Shaw as the head coach, with Pippen as an assistant. There is your championship pedigree right there. Players would want to play for these guys. KP/Penn teamed up as GM/Salary Cap Expert would be nice as well. What is confusing to me is simply this. Why would Alex prefer to have Jeff Bower in the front office over a guy like Phil Jackson?

I'm fine with this if it means Dwight will sign. It's not like he wouldn't be involved the other 3 weeks... he'll be on conference calls and stay connected. His old body just won't be there.

Would probably be a GM too, in addition to PJ, no?

He's a community ambassador with the Bulls right now, that's all I know.

I assume we'd have a GM + Phil. I don't think Alex would have to worry about not having a GM in the office daily. He can arrange that easily if he wanted to.

all i know is the magic better get the ball rolling.

there is about to be a vacancy in miami.

that may be the more attractive option for shaw (or whomever).

IMO, that plan I just read is a pretty big ball that appears to be rolling quicker by the day.

Phil would be a hell of a recruiter of free agents. Players would flock to play in ORL.

This may look awfully silly if Alex balks at this idea and hires Bower.

I read PJ's book back in the day, he he called Scottie "an extension of himself" on the court or something like that.

I remember him saying that Pippen used to direct players on where to go, defensively.

I'd be down.

Not a fan of Pippen... he's been in the news a lot in recent years for making dumb comments. Just doesn't scream head or assistant coach-worthy to me. That being said, whatever keeps Dwight and as long as he's only an assistant...

Phil could not be the GM in this proposal. Even im saying that is stupid that our GM would only be around the team 1 week out of a month. It would have to be a diffrent role.

He could easily stay in contact through video and regular calls for the other three weeks if he did end up being GM. Phil Jackson on a monitor >>>>>>>>>>>>> Otis Smith in person. Besides, half the games are played on the road last I checked. Hell, I'd take him just so he would have frequent conversations with Dwight and unleash some zen on him...

^ Im all for Phil coming on board...it would be AWESOME. BUT, I don't see Alex doing it. Phil would equal Dwight staying, but seems like too much

That's really random... Why would all of those guys come to Orlando? Anyways the only thing i got out of that article was that Howard still wants out(That's like the 3rd or 4th report now).

Return to Orlando Magic
