I think Beal to the Wiz is pretty much a lock. MKG and Robinson are going at 2 and 4 one way or the other. I really really want us to move up to 4 and take whichever one we can get there

If MKG was available at #4, I'd like to see the price for moving up. Davis is the clear #1. Robinson and MKG are the clear #2's and since we have Aldridge, Robinson isn't necessary. All other players inculding Beal have questions marks.
Beal is a short SG and they generally don't do well in the NBA.
Drummond is a rist reward type player.
Barnes has questions.

With our team I think Beal is a much better fit than MKG. I just think you have to really question offensive upside with him. His shot is just so ugly, it's going to be hard for him to get it off in the NBA and right now he's shown little to no ability to create, gets almost all of his buckets in transition, put backs, etc. He's essentially Kawhi Leonard right now with a higher ceiling. Not a bad thing at all, he's a stud, but I think if we bring in MKG we need to move Batum for a shot creator to pair him with. Personally, I'd rather just draft Beal and keep Batum.

I like that MKG is a sure thing though. MKG is Gerald Wallace. He doesn't have much bust potential at all. Beal has a little more upside as an Eric Gordon clone but there's a small chance he busts.

As far as Barnes goes I think he has plenty more game than Martell Webster and I will stand by that. I do have AD, Beal, and MKG ahead of him though. He's a solid four on my board.
No offense, but I gather from your post that you don't know much about any of the UNC players.
I'm not really wowed by anyone there other than John Henson. I dont claim to be a genious here but my initial reaction has been that Marshall and Zeller aren't out of this world talent. The idea of drafting Marshall seems like its all about getting the Blazers a pg which would be good logic if Marshall were quicker and more athletic. I just don't like Zeller and Marshall, btu take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If Marshall were quicker and more athletic he would be a top 2 pick in the draft. But he doesn't need those tools to succeed, because his game is not built on quickness or athleticism. He didn't use quickness or athleticism in college and he won't all of a sudden try to become Derrick Rose in the NBA. He will have a Ricky Rubio-like effect on the Blazers by making the right passes and putting his teammates in position to score. You won't see the ball stagnate on iso's like it has the last few years. We would run more like the Spurs of this season.

I don't think he has the speed or the physical abilities (wingspan) of Rubio he could end up like that backup from the jazz Earl Watson.

Rubio was very athletic with good defensive instincts.

I think you are over exaggering him but noe of really know, his possible weak offensive and defensive ability bother me a lot

Tony Parker ran the Spurs offense, i'm sorry but there's no way in heck our offense looks like that even if we somehow manage to get Dragic at Pg.

If we can buy a late first I'd go with Royce White

Lol yeah, Parker is one of the best players at penetrating defenses.
It is safe to assume that will NOT be one of Marshall's strengths.

I think we're gonna land DWILL, so with #6 and #11, I'm going big.
#6 Drummond
#11 Moultrie
Get a scoring SG/SF with the 1st rounder PA is likely to buy. Fill out the roster with the 2nds.

I don't see the logic in drafting two front court guys when the the guy we're looking to build around is a front court player.. If we resign Hickson these picks would really be dumbfounding..
I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Aldridge isn't getting any younger and I doubt the Blazers want to spend such a high pick on a guy like Drummond who is going to take years to develop. If Drummond is there when we pick I wouldn't be surprised to see us either trade down a few picks and take Marshal, Lillard or Lamb or just trade it for a proven commodity.
The only way I would be alright with two front court guys is if our FO truly felt they were the BPA at our picks and we were lucky to get them (these BPA's fell to us).. Then we could just address needs in FA.

It sure would be interesting to see Barnes jump MKG. I'm still convinced Beal and MKG go 3 and 4, whoever the Wiz pick and 3, the Cav pick the one left over. But, assuming the Wiz take Beal, Barnes going 4 isn't out of the realm of possibility. If MKG doesn't standout huge over Barnes in private workouts and the Cavs are taking Irving's input seriously, there's a chance they pass over MKG.
That's probably the best overall scenario for the Blazers. Regardless of what Sac does, Blazers end up with a really good player.

According to Sam Amico, one western conf GM says that 80-90 of all mock drafts are completely wrong right now. Apparent there's a TON of chatter coming out of the Chi combine and it's not even started, be on the lookout for player stocks to change drastically. People saying that the Top 10 will have players no one is even talking about.
Also, props to kdawg, word coming out of the combine already that Cavs may have Barnes listed as their main target, even over Beal.

Interesting, Drummond could perhaps end up #9 or worse.
When ones combines the skill level and ental toughness of Royce White, clearly a top 10 player is being discussed if not for the off-court issues.

To all of you putting words in my mouth: I did not say Kendall Marshall would resemble Tony Parker in any way. I said that our offense would resemble the Spurs' offense of this year...in the sense of playing unselfish basketball. i.e. ball movement, rewarding cutters, making the extra pass, etc.
Obviously we would still need a primary scorer who can break down defenses off the dribble. Taking Kendall Marshall at 11 is completely independent of that.
Sheesh

Yeah, I think with the equality of talent after #1 and perhaps extending past the 5 or 6 other players who have been "consensus 2nd Tier", the situaltion is going to be very fluid pending combine results and further workouts. This draft may have a lot more top 9 (after Davis) surprises then most
