Kyrie and Brand were both taken #1 in the draft. With only their college career to go on, the nba already valued them over all other players in their draft.

Hasn't exactly had a stellar career, but i think Chris Duhon was a 2nd rd pick and he's been in the league for awhile. I'd say thats a nice career length for a 2nd rounder.

Studying Jerry West for many, many years, Austin Rivers is a West kind of player.

Monta 2.0? Wasn't West the one who said that wasn't gonna ever work and we needed to get bigger? Doesn't make sense to trade Monta and go right back to a player that is basically the same thing.

LOL whoops, sorry I meant recently. Grant Hill, Brand Deng, Boozer and even Maggette definitely qualify (especially young and on cheap deals), but recently it's been much more players being underwhelming in the NBA. Guys like Gerald Henderson, Shelden Williams, Duhon, and JJ Reddick have been some recent lotto picks and star players.

Coach K does seem to be getting better talent now, but I'm not enthralled with Rivers and what he brings at 7.

He doesn't have a lethal jumpshot, and he's not strong enough to stay infront of defenders. It'll be a terrible move, we just got rid of a small tweener and we draft another one? Might as well go after Waiters.

What I like about him is he has that late game drive to perform. He was really all Duke had late in games. He wasn't good enough to come through all the time, but he did alright. Which is all you can expect from a mid-late first rounder.

Not a huge fan though. He's a combo guard that needs to be forced to play the 1; as a pure basketball talent I'm a fan.

Watching Duke right now and they have no forwards....just three centers in Kelley, and both Plumlee's.....then they run oit four guards to handle the rest.

Rivers won't have to be forced to play the one, he's merely a scoring one like Rose....his passing is superb and is setting guys up all over, they just can't finish.....Rivers has to take over out of necessity which affects his turmovers.

Alot to ask out of a freshman ar Duke.

So Rivers just sunk an iso three at the buzzer over a seven footer to win the game against North Carolina after trailing by eleven for most of the second half.

Rivers ended up with 29 points and had six threes....but what stood out to me was all of the setup passes for wide open looks that didn't gp down.

To me he looks loke a legit six four, has wide shoulders, and should mature into a Jason Kidd style body....his handles are off the charts..

If we take him at seven it will be necause Jerry West sees greatness.

I doubt we'll take him at seven, but I definitely think he can play the 1. He was phenomenal in high school as a facilitator.

I think Rivers along with Drummand are the players that will go lower than expected. Rivers because of the large number of talented bigs and Drummand because of so trading down is viable if Drummand is not there

If Rivers falls behind Waiters and Marshall on draft boards he could plummet to the 20s.

I really like Teague. He was the #1 PG in his HS class and was an afterthought at Kentucky with an NBA pedigree. If he drops to our second first we should jump on it.
