This team's got heart?
What do you guys think? Im very frustrated with the constant lack of effort compared to other teams, this team is too accustomed to win by talent, and i keep seeing how starting by the freaking coach, this teams keep taking this situations too lightly.
Yesterday was one of the few times that this team started with some intensity, so im not blaming effort on yesterdays lost, im blaming more the freaking zone and a lot of bad luck and poor refs for the first 3 qtrs, but IMO if this team really really play like what this games are, MUST win ELIMINATION games, we can deff coast thru this last 2 games, but for some reason i find myself doubting that it will happen, i dont remember us winning a close series, we either win big or simply loose.
Im talking about the Big 3 era. All playoffs series wins have been 4-1 with the exception of Indiana who we clearly have much more talent and experience. This team have NOT proven they can overcome strong adversity from a well coached and talented team. Chicago was a tough series but we were never in a situation like this, same with Boston last year.
Thoughts?

Doesn't seem like they want it enough. It's not a talent thing at all, boston just seems to want it more.

These two sentences sum it up perfectly. If we only had Zo's heart and soul injected into Lebron or Wade...smh

Zo sadly enough isnt it that locker room or huddle yelling at these p*ssies to man the F up! I dont think anyone on this team has half the heart or DESIRE Zo had, or showed in our title run. Wade's performance aside in 06, Zo gives me goosebumps more to this day, for the most jaw dropping, raw emotion and desire to win a ring in his 14 mins of game 6! The man almost had a damn sesuire(spelled wrong i know, lol)on the floor when he blocked that one layup!

If our team had Zo's heart... we'd be unbeatable. But they don't...

We're going to find out if they do. It doesn't seem Riley or Zo put much of themselves into this team. It's left to Spo to motivate and get their heads right. He's one of the last people in the world you'd want doing that.

Re: This team's got heart?
It's probably not even Boston wants 'it' that much. Sure, they want to prove the people who were saying 'they are old, blow it up!' wrong, but they never looked this good in any of the two series. We HATED Boston and Chicago last year. That's why our games would be knock-out-drag-out fights in the Play Offs against two teams that legitimately hated each other. That's why LeBron had his jumper going, he wanted to beat them SO BAD, that's why him and Wade put daggers into Chicago's heart. That's why LeBron shot two three pointers over Pierce and stole a pass near half court for a fast break dunk to end Boston's season in 5.
We don't have that edge this year. That villain mentality, that we HATED our opposition and will beat them at whatever cost (i,e, Boston last year). Therefore, the heart that we had last year, does not show because we lost that edge we had. Sure, LeBron does not like being the villain, and even though he says he plays better while he's carefree, look at where we are right now. We got too care free against Boston. From 2-0, down to 2-3. We don't play with that villain edge anymore to close out games.
On the other hand, look at Boston. They HATE us, they want REVENGE. They ALWAYS get up for us. Why do you think they played like dog **** in the past two series, and now look like they have the heart of a champion? That's because they got up for us because of how much they hate us. The Bulls still hate us, hence: Noah and Boozer's comments last year. Hell, John Lucas III Brian Scal are BASKING in our defeat when they should be more worried about how they are going to fair without Rose for most of the season last year.
People are motivated to beat us. A year's worth of resentment grows from Chicago and Boston because of how we ended their seasons last year. We no longer have that villain mentality, and thus, find ourselves in a hole like we are in right now, because we got too carefree and refused to punch a team that legitimately hates us in the face by allowing them to win 3 straight and push us to elimination.
As of right now, I don't see any heart. Say what you want, but when we were the villains, we had much more swag, heart, and played with much more of an edge.

To be fair, its hard to play with a lot of heart and emotion when you aren't sure of what you're doing.
Offensively, if you take away their transition game, the team loses their identity.

Re: This team's got heart?
Riley takes motivation very seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a very influential speaker in the house before next game. This team is going to be given everything they need to win, we'll see if they can do it.
This is a great test for the team, if they find a way to battle through this I really like there chances. This team needs some hardship to learn about themselves. Let's hope they can overcome.

IMO you dont need a play to go after 50/50 balls, to rebound, etc. IMO theres no excuse to be loosing to this Boston team, even without Bosh, they dont have their best perimeter defender in Bradley and they are still beating us. Unacceptable IMO.

Re: This team's got heart?
They should be remembering how it felt last year when we lost to the Mavs by now....... i dont understand, they got to stop "letting the game come to them" and start hustling and make things happen. They got to let their blood on that court tomorrow. Well see...... it is the perfect time to prove themselves.

Re: This team's got heart?
Wade getting a technical in game 6 of the Finals when we were trying to get back shows me, no, they probably don't have heart.
This team is lacking something.
We'll see how much heart they have tomorrow.
They showed heart in game 4 of the Pacers. UD showed tremendous heart too.
and yes, Boston hating us has something with them playing better. Just like how we get up for big games on national TV like OKC, NY, Lakers (at home anyway), whatever, Boston does the same thing.
What's disturbing as hell is yeah in the regular season Boston owns us. We beat them last year (Rondo broke his arm but we were up 2-0 anyway, though Pierce tossed in game 1) in 5. But Boston was better last year IMO... how could we be losing? AND WE GOT BETTER... though Bosh has been injured.
We'll just see tomorrow.
Last 3 games were awful. So close only to fall short.

Did we? I've been wondering this. I'm not sure that we're better this year, and if we are it's by the smallest of margins.

Re: This team's got heart?
its not heart, its frustration, they are frustrated..
Lebron especially, he feels like hes doing too much, its clear, he ran from doing too much to end up doing more...
Its tough to play with teammates who cant score, blow assignments and get silly fouls. I've played on teams where no one else did anything, its hard trust me, u give up. But this is the nba, lebron's legacy and us against the world, they can't give up at any time.
We don't lack heart, but we are misguided (coach), and are mentally incapable of playing through what we are asked to do, teammates that do nothing to help....it will break you down mentally trust me.
When Boston gets down, the coach picks them up, he knows what to tap into, Spo doesn't...
then i honestly believe we play too cool for school...all i was thinkin when Pierce squared up Lebron last night was, D up, step into his body, give him no space, play desperate, we play cool, calm, unattached, we are just like out coach, we have it in us, but we are too cool calm to show it...and when you're passive aggressive and things don't go your way, frustration sets in and it shows with every erratic jumper they take and every time they run back slow on defense

So true man. The Team Leader is suppose to set the example what you expect the other players to do if they see Wade coasting back on defense?
No heart and when Coach try to say somthing to Wade he is ready to fight like Your out of line for calling him out on lackluster play.
