I disagree. Look at how the Thunder struggle to score in the half court since they are essentially forced to play 2 on 5 when the starters are in. If you surrounded LeBron with cdefensive players, it would be the same story.

Then again, if Spoelstra is still the coach, they'd struggle to score no matter who LeBron was playing next to.

Thats a pretty good package for D Wade. Ridnour, Battier, Lebron, Bosh, Pekovic with Chalmers, Dwill and Anthony off the bench is pretty darn good. Spolestra is a terrible terrible coach though. Having Lebron on your team is enough to make you a pretty good defensive team. The guy is so active and athletic. All the attention that Lebron gets, Pek would have a field day on all the Centers helping on the pick and roll.

You wouldn't trade that package for Wade. REALLY?????

Is the whole world on drugs?

Goals in the NBA are not to make the playoffs, they are to contend for championships.

Most here probably think Rubio/Wade/Love trio is not enough to contend for a championship before Wade declines/gets old/contract ends.

I get where you're coming from, though. Wade is a top 3 player in the NBA, but i'm with moss on this one.

Give me an established player who is around his mid-20's (Gay/Iggy) to be a 1b-2a option with Love that is also a respectable defensive presence.

Outside of the Thunder, who else has a better core than that in the West?

Nobody, but can we seriously compete with the Thunder for the West titles for years? Especially if the Thunder manage to keep the Westbrook/Harden/Durant/Ibaka core. Wade's age is the only thing that makes me say no, but Wade would be the *2nd best player this franchise ever had.

* = Love could take that honor or even pass that with an MVP + more individual accolades/team success.

Another name that won't be popular, but shouldn't cost much either: Corey Maggette. Would provide an instant scoring option on the wing, someone I think Adelman would like. An $11 million expiring next offseason, or to use at the trade deadline.

I doubt Charlotte would be asking much, maybe he'd be packaged with someone like Byron Mullens to come be a backup center.

Asinine. Wade is a top 5 NBA player. He has a championship. Rubio/Wade/Love can't compete, but Rubio/Gay/Love or Rubio/Iggy/Love can??? Gay is barely above average. His team was arguably better without him last year.

If we can't compete for a championship by adding Dwayne Freakin' Wade to Rubio and Love, then we should be trading Love and Rubio and blowing this up.

I wouldnt mind Corey. I always respect players that can get to the line, but he would def need to be with Rubio because he can be a black hole on O.

Because it's Corey Maggette. He takes teams deep into the lottery and would take up $11M in cap space next year. I literally think that every team he plays for is worse than the year before.

I'd rather get a guy like Maggette who expires before a loaded 2013 class than someone who will eat up cap space for multiple years and may have a similar impact on the team. Right now, we have roughly 17 million in 2013 cap space. If we dealt some of our longer contracts, we could free up even more space to throw at some big names.

That's why I'm also a big fan of acquiring someone like Martin. If he plays himself into the core, fine. If not, that's a lot of cap space that opens up.

We shouldn't be focused on spending all our long term salary on guys with major question marks. Keep it simple with expirings like Martin or Maggette that will improve our team this season enough to do damage, but will not eliminate our financial flexibility next offseason.

Martin could improve our team. Maggette couldn't. That's the difference. Maggette is a team chemistry cancer. He gets his own buckets and thats all he cares about. I'd rather just not use the cap space than have to watch a team with Maggette on it next year. That's how strong I feel about Maggette.

Didn't people say the same thing about Stephen Jackson?

There's a ton of flaws with that comparison. Stephen Jackson had been on a lot of good teams, he had already played for Popovic before they traded for him this season. Maggette has only been on 1 playoff team his entire career, and I wouldn't take a risk on a strong personality on a young team like ours.

Plus Steven Jackson was utter crap and a total cancer playing for Milwaukee...which would be a similar situation to ours...not being placed on ateam with maybe the most veteran leadership and the best coach in basketball.

Corey Maggettee is crap and I wouldn't want him on this team, and them adding Byron Mullens who is god awful. Mullens is like a homeless mans Chris Kaman, with maybe the worst defense at his position. Id rather play tolliver.

I have to agree with the majority here. No Maggette please. It would be nice to have a player on the squad that can get to the free throw line at will (aside from Love) but he's just too damn selfish. Nor would I probably be able to like him as a Wolf considering that I hate the way he has made a living in this league.

Corey Maggette?

I've being lately doing some "scouting" about one of Maggette's teammates that could be an interesting player to have in mind this summer, I'm talking about Derrick Brown.

I know that it's not an exciting name to throw in, but if we make an important and expensive acquisition for the SG spot like Kevin Martin or Eric Gordon, a guy like Brown could be a nice complementary player that could be had on the cheap. He is a restricted free agent but I don't think the Bobcats are spending a lot of money in role players when they don't have even a star.

He is a big and super athletic SF that plays with a lot of energy. He is also a good defender and a explosive finisher in transition and I think he still has some upside.

I think he would be perfect for the role of a defensive minded, energy wing and wouldn't cost much, so we could save our cap space in a high-profile SG and depth at the center.
