Im pretty sure with the new CBA that in a sign and trade a player can't get the full bird raises like in the old CBA. So the contracts hill and beasley would be on would just be a contract that either us or the lakers could offer to either player, iirc.

I'm thinking that something could end up happening along the lines of:

Lakers getting Beasley, Derrick Williams, and Scola
Houston getting Pau
Wolves getting Kevin Martin

Of course there would be more added to even things out, but that trade scenario makes sense to me.

We are giving too much for Martin. Literally, in any way you spin. Derrick Williams was a 2nd pick and has tremendous 1st pick nba draft upside. He would probably be #3 in combined draft 2012 and 2011 draft (1. Anthony Davis, 2. Kyrie Irving 3. Kawhi Leonard/Derrick Williams. His skillset if he slims down 20 pounds is elite for small forward

Extremely doubtful.

His stats were insnae in college and he wasn't even awful this year. I would not take faried over him since his skillset is a 15 10 player at best. Derrick Williams is a franchise player by potential at SF. Which is better than Beal/Drummond/MKG

The only way Williams could possibly go third in a combined 11/12 draft is if you don't take into account what has happened in the pros. Even then there would be some debate.

Why not? Did anyone on this board ever think Kevin Love could become a franchise cornerstone when he was drafted?

Hill is an UFA and trading him for Beasley doesn't actually save us any cap space.

The only reason we'd do this is if the Lakers throw in a pick or cash. And then only if we wanted Hill and paid him market value.

LakersNation is really a worse version of Shooter when it comes to rumors.

I don't think it's an insane idea, as he's certainly got that potential to be a Paul Pierce type of player. That said, whether he reaches it or not is a whole other issue.

I don't see Paul Pierce (style or talent) at all. I think I've mentioned that I see David West if he reaches his peak on a team that has PF minutes for him.

I forgot Val. He would be 5th then. 1. Anthony Davis (his draft combine numbers didn't impress that much but he would still be 1) 2. Kyrie Irving 3. Jonas Val 4.Kawhi Leonard 5. Derrikc Williams. Derrick Williams needs to lose 20 pounds over the Off-Season. He is on the heavy side but has a good wingspan and skillset for small forward. I still can't believe that he hasn't lost 20-30 pounds which he needs to do.

For us to S&T someone, don't we need to make a QO to them first. Do the Wolves need to be at risk of being stuck with Beas at $8mil to s&t him?
