Hornets Trade
10th for 14th and 16th?
Is there someone who might be available at 10 but not available at 14 that Houston would really want?

Depends on who is available. I don't think we pull the trigger unless it's someone we really want. If that is the case I'd do it. Outside of mkg, davis, and beal I really don't think there are a lot of players with A LOT of upside. Rivers, waiters and drummond all have upside but they're high risk/high reward.

Drummond doesn't even know how to play basketball
Jones has the skill but he seem lazy
Ross seem like a good player afraid he will be gone before 10th
because Morey is our GM
he may think we can keeping Lee and Martin and he may not like to draft a SG
we all know how much he like to draft senior

Lars I have finally just accepted that you are way more knowledgable about the business side of basketball (and most likely in general basketball knowledge) than me, but I agree with max
I think Morey would be moving up to take the safe pick as per usual...he would be moving up to take sullinger or zellar(a pick I like but one I think we can get at 14 after camps)

Re: Hornets Trade
#10 and Emeka Okafor for Kevin Martin.
Why for Hornets: get out of paying Okafor's $14.5 million salary in 2013-2014 season. Indiana is talking about giving Eric Gordon a MAX contract. Hornets can match that but really shouldn't (see Joe Johnson)
Why for Rockets: get 10th pick and a chance at Terrence Ross or Jeremy Lamb, Okafor is an expensive center but we can trade Dalembert or decline his team option. Gets rid of Kevin Martin.

Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Re: Hornets Trade
I'd be cool with that, texasholdem.
Okafor is way overpaid, but I still think that he'd be an effective (albeit expensive) Center option. Go ahead and then decline Dally's option and see if Camby is serious about wanting to stay home to finish his career.
I'll take 3 of the top 16 picks. Good flexibility. Even if we kept all three we may not get a superstar, but we would have a nice foundation of young players.

Re: Hornets Trade
1. Hornets can match any salary offer for Gordon including the max and stay under the cap
2. Nobody is trading for Kevin Martin
3. Emeka Okafor and pick 10 for pick 16
4. I'm not sure who your source is but Indiana will not be offering Eric Gordon anything... Something about Simon(owner?) not going after restricted free agents."not his style"

True but it's a high risk/high reward thing. Drummond is getting a lot of the same criticism that STAT recieved. One gm in Chicago called him Urkel: "big, goofy, and a really nice kid but no one has got him to play hard, thats the challenge". Not saying I want to draft him just for agruments sake. Anyways I like texas trade but I doubt they'd go for it. This trade works out for both teams, hornets need depth and we need quality.

As a Hornet fan I like Lowry. I'd most likely trade Jack for him.

Draft buzz: Hearing that teams calling Hornets being told that it'll take more to get No. 10 pick than taking on Ariza or Okafor contract

Re: Hornets Trade
Hornet would match a MAX contract for a guy who played only 9 games for them? I doubt it. Tom Benson has Drew Brees to worry about and he's not even the real owner yet.

Re: Hornets Trade
would love for the hornets to trade 10 to the rockets for 14 and 16 but i doubt the rockets would do that unless they fall in love with some 1 who might not be there at 14 or dont want to add 2 more rookie deals to their team, which i think might be the case actually..
I was looking at your team to see if there was any 1 with an expiring contract that we would take to help broker the deal but the only 1 is kevin martin so that wouldnt work out...
would be interesting to see if on draft day the hornets trade 10 and 46 for 14 and 16 though
